When there is so many things going on in your life that your mind will not slow down so you can rest.
If I manage to get to sleep, I wake up at 2:00 and lay there all night thinking about the next days schedules.

The above are good ideas for getting to sleep. Staying asleep takes a bit different approach. Consider eating a snack before going to bed that will keep your blood sugar level level during the night. Lowness in blood sugar can wake you up or keep you awake.

One possible snack, 1-2 hard boiled eggs for the protein - that slows down your body's absorption of the sugar in the carbohydrates; a cookie or cracker or 2 (if you are a guy) and a handful of nuts, best are almonds or peanuts. Nuts are a good snack for anytime.

I wish I can help you with that, cause that seems to be My problem. I agree with what some people have said, Don't try to stop yourself from thinking , Just think about something else, that you enjoy more :-) .. think about me for an example :-) lol.. once you're filled with sweet thoughts, you won't be stressed so you'll just fall a sleep. If that isn't working, gimme a call, I'll Make Sure your time up is not wasted on thoughts, but more on... Actions!

You'll need to get those thoughts out of your head. So figure out what kind of stuff calms you down - is it meditation, or working out, or hiking? Whatever you do, make sure you spend some time each day (an hour would be ideal) doing some physical activity that helps you wind down. Pick some non-intellectual activities that allow your mind to ramble. It's like taking a kid to a playground to let it work off excess energy.

Me too. did not get to sleep until eventually about a million a.m. and that i had to be up at 7. I awoke very drained, really because I tossed and grew to develop into all evening. And at the same time as i ultimately fell right into a snooze deep sufficient to dream, I had a nightmare. what's up with the universe?

dear friend....
to have a good sleep after a hard day, first of all try to take a shower (cold water is better) ,if u can't... wash your face then wash your hands from elbow to ur fingers then make your hairs and ur feet a little wet with water....this is the a good way wich I use every night and really works(the 2nd way is called ((vozoo))by muslims and is an old way and ofcourse suggested by psychologists),
after these, try to sleep in a cool place and never think of bad things, just imagine beautiful tomorrows...
I wish these works for you

this is what i use.

first take 6 deep slow breaths. then when i lay there, i start at my feet and totally relax my feet, picturing my arches and my heels then my ankles. then picture in your mind your calves and think of them slowly relaxing. you can feel yourself getting heavier and heavier and sinking into the bed.

you want to sleep all night and get up refreshed in the morning and tell yourself that the whole time you do this exercise. you know you will and think to yourself how good it will feel to wake up in the morning all refreshed.

then move up to your knees and the backs of your knees..feel them with your minds' eye. then your legs, totally relaxed...sinking, sinking, relaxing.

then your butt and your hips, remind yourself now how you want to sleep through the entire night.

picture your lower back and how all the muscles there are going to relax one by one and you can feel yourself relaxing all over as you are getting heavier and heavier.

you are breathing slower now and you feel the muscles of your upper back slowly relaxing, take away all the tension. you can now feel your shoulders. think of how your shoulders are tight due to stress and you are going to relax all of those muscles one by one.

again remind yourself that you will sleep through the entire night and wake up refreshed. now move to your neck and feel each muscle relaxing and sinking. your entire body is getting heavier. you feel your face muscles relaxing, your jaw, your forehead and now your scalp. your entire body is heavy now. you feel so relaxed. nothing can bother you now...you know you will get the sleep you need. you have no worries and everything is as it should be. go to sleep.

i have to do this for my daughter sometimes but i also do it for myself. hope it helps

I take over-the-counter sleeping pills. Also, cut back on your caffeine espically as the evening progresses.
