Take cut up pieces of fruit such as watermelon, cantelope and musk melon and maybe pineapple. It is fun to snack on too. Have fun with your sandwiches....one day egg salad sandwich (which sounds real good right now), ham with all the fixing the next day, tuna after that.

You can even prepare a salad with all the trimmings the night before. A great container for salad dressing is a baby food jar or the plastic baby food jar. Just buy one and empty it. It will only cost you about 40 cents. Wash it out and put your dressing in it. The plastic ones work better but they cost about a dollar but they have a nice close lid with them.

my daughter hates sandwiches so when she has to take a brown bag lunch to school for field trips she takes: peanut butter crackers, grapes or an apple, raisins and some carrot sticks. It seems like junk food but it is equivelant to a peanut butter sandwich, a veggie and fruits. You can add a dessert but you probably won't want to since this seems like " cheating " already.

Think outside the box and come up with your own ideas of what you love to snack on that is good for you or in the " not so bad " catagory and you will not be bored any longer.

Lunchables are NOT the thing to take. They are terrible for you. My suggestion is when you make dinner, make a little extra and store it in one of those glad ware containers that can be frozen. You don't necessarily have to eat the leftovers the next day, you can store them in the freezer, labled of course so you know what it is, then the night before pop it in the fridge to thaw overnight. Next day, thanks to the modern convenience of a microwave, you have a great lunch that's hot and feels like you're having a treat because it's not a sandwich. You can also go to your local Italian rest. and portion out a lasagna or something that freezes well and do the same thing.

My favorite is wraps. Toss some of last night's meat in there, some lettuce, tomato, and you have to top it off with 'Three Cheese Ranch' salad dressing. Even my kids eat this ( minus the tomatoes)
It's so quick to make.
Another fast thing to do is make your own ' Fruit and Yogurt' cup. Layer frozen fruit and your favorite yogurt. By the time lunch rolls around, your fruit is thawed and all is delicious!! Just make sure it's in a tight sealed container...won't taste so good off the bottom of the paper bag.
Carrots and hummus is really satisfying too. But not everyone likes hummus. The 60-pepper hummus is really good.

Oh man...' askthetoughquestions' just made me so hungry!

Quick n easy n healthy, plus a little indulgent:

- Your favorite crackers or pita bread. I like Wheatsworth.
- some packaged hummus
- washed baby spinach - you get it in the bag salad section
- pre cooked chicken bits like for fajitas (or whatever meat you like
- a strong flavored cheese in a small chunk. Maybe cream cheese but keep it small.
- blueberries, raspberries
- some yogurt, whatever flavor
- mix it all up and scoop w/ the crackers or bread, or use a wrap if you want to make a burrito.

Oh I forgot, drink chocolate milk, it's really not so bad for you and it's so indulgent. If you're uptight, you can use skim milk and a mix like Carnation instant breakfast or Ovaltine.

What the person above me said, Lunchables are good, but I don't know if you have them over there, pasta salads are an idea, you could make them yourself, and they aren't too expensive either.Plus they taste really good!?Or if you're feeling lazy you can buy the ready made ones from the shop.
