He said 'Yes.' I asked him if I have ever been nasty to him, he said 'No.' I said 'Are you sure? Never?' He replied 'Yes, never.'
I told him I loved him and he said the same back. He then came out with 'Even if you were nasty to me, Dad, I would still love you.'
I had to stop a tear in my eye.
Is that not the just the nicest thing you have ever heard from a five year old!!?

:)

that is the best think a child can say to a parent, when a five year old says it no matter who may think otherwise it does come from the heart because at that age children do tell the truth about how they feel about their parents.

Awwwwwww! That's so nice! I have a story of my own....My daughter woke up in the middle of the night, really sick. I got up, took her to the bathroom, gave her some advil, and some water and tucked her back into bed. She gave me a big hug and said "Thanks for everything, Mommy, You're the best est" Next to your son, that was the nicest thing I heard from a 4 year old.

AAAHH - cute!

My son is 4 now, and he is growing up without his dad.

Recently I have allowed him and my boyfriend to start to have a relationship, and the other day he asked if he could call my bf Daddy - that brought a tear to my eye too!!
