There's a monorail track in New Mexico called the HHSTT or something, and they launched a sled down the track at mach 8. I think it was a little over 6,000 mph. It's the fastest rocket sled on earth. They started testing military equipment and they also made John Paul Stapp the fastest man on earth while seeing how many G's the human body could endure. He survived after a deceleration exerting 46.2 G's.

Personally, I'd say the voyager spacecraft. By now they should have built a a good percentage of the speed of light!!!

The internet... what other vehical can take you anywhere in the world in less than a second... a close second.. Saturn rocket.... although the Yugo I thnik was rather fast.
