yeah, it sounds so stupid to distinguish the two,
since Science most often give us Technology which seems to be the only reason we have science

but in the previous era (before the Industrial Revolution),
Science was studied mostly in its purely theoretical aspects, and most scientists were alchemists and magicians too
only Recently did Science bear fruit to the Technology that we benefit from today,

"pure" Science is tackled by theoreticians and researchers

Technology is often specialised by various Engineers and other practicalists/ or developers of theories previously propunded in Science
