The specifics sort of depend on which god you're talking about. There are loads of them out there, stories about various gods have been around more or less since the invention of stories. I'm sure yours has a story... it may simply define him/her/it/them as being there "in the beginning," or there may actually be some other details involve. I dunno. It's your god, you probably know better than me.
So. Pick the god you're asking about. Now think of all the other gods that aren't the one you believe in. Well, if those aren't your God, and there is only one "real" one (presumably yours), then the others must just be stories, right? And people create stories... so in general people create gods.

As far as I can tell, God created the very concept of "time" [I'm pretty sure this is touched apon in Genesis]. So, even though it's a hard thing to wrap your mind around, I don't think it's so much "God has always existed" as it is "God exists.". No begining or end, because He created the entire concept of beginings and endings. Time: created, owned, controlled and copyrighted by God. God: seperate and unaffected by time, it being His creation.

Parents create a child and the child creates fathers and mothers.
Similarly man has created God according to his faith, belief and culture. This the reason why there are so many religions in the world and the reason why we should respect all religions.......we have created them.

Here is a simple equation :
God >> Created God 1 >> God Created God 2 >> Created God 3 .... etc
eventually, there must be only one God. who created all of the other gods. and there is only one god. but the above (equation) was a simple figure to get the matter across to you.
But , you might say that there is no god at all ...
I advice you to read these pages :

* You Have to read, it's a matter of religion , Paradise / Hell ... Happiness / Sorrow ... Don't say " blah, blah , blah " ... you won't lose anything.

He created himself in an inverse logic step, silly!
Or then again, since God created Man in his own image, and therefore Man looks just like God, Man created God.

What a strange question. How could God be God, if someone created Him?

It depends on how you perceive God!
In the beginning there was nothing, then there was God and It was good.
At it's most microscopic everything is pure energy and that IS God. All good thoughts, actions, deeds, things said, and all that is physical! Everything that we feel, see and think that is bad is manifest of man. God gave us free will!
So God began as a particle of energy and expanded, just as the whole of the universe continues to expand.

God is created by us. it is a result of a deep understanding of the nature. God is a great concept. please dont try to visualise like a human being or an object. It is just a great concept that supposed to be helping the human race to live in peace. Can you see the wind? you cant! but you can feel the wind. God is also like that.

He always existed according to religious teachings, but I believe if there is a God, that he created himself.
