how long should I cook my crab for <boiling water>?

I trap blue claw crabs on Long Island, NY. What I do is fill a pot 3/4 filled with water. I put about a quarter cup of kosher salt and bring the water to a boil. Then I add Old Bay Seasoning. I put up to four crabs in one pot, I don't overcrowd it. I let the crabs boil for about seven minutes with the lid on the pot. It's best to dump the crabs in the pot when they are still alive.

First salt the water, then bring to a good rolling boil then place the crab in the water depending on how many crab you are boiling let them cook for about 8 to 10 mins.

Heating Frozen Unthawed Pre-Cooked Crab Legs Steaming: Place pre-cooked frozen crab legs in a vegetable steamer or colander over heavy and rapid boiling water (fill pot about 1/3 of the way with water.) Place uncooked crab legs into the boiling water and allow the water to return to a boil. Reduce the heat to medium and cook them approximately 20-25 minutes.
