The religious explanation would be BECAUSE GOD MADE IT THAT WAY! Just like every other explanation they have. I'm sure they will find a way to say god didn't just stop at earth.

"God works in mysterious ways" Is the believers answer to every question about religion that they cannot create a logical explanation for. They also tend to use "Just have faith" and "If you do a little research you'll see I am right" (even though they themselves have actually more than likely done less research than you have)
Therefore I think they would probably make some thing up and find various bible verses to prove that they knew the life was there all along.

Allah Almighty has created the whole universe and if He has created some kind of life on another planet it does not become questionable? Religion mostly address us the humans and humanity and not other form of life like algae, bacteria or other kind of life. Life is discovered on another planet or not in either case it is all OK.

Muslims i know will say it was already mentioned in their prayer...
"Praise be to Allah the sustainer of the Worlds!" in the Quran and various such references.... Earlier they would suggest various life forms on Earth... these days they believe that it is about the various planets... and if life be there all the better.
I think the Christan and Muslim missions will leave immediately to proselytize and spread the "good news" ! They wont let any thinking creature live in peace!!!

nicely, if an alien race replace into additionally got here upon and contacted, it may be thrilling to work out if that they had the assumption of religion, and if their faith(s) and our faith(s) shared any similarities... i think of that non secular leaders could have lots to assert pertaining to to the invention of life on yet another planet. life is the equivalent to God whether it truly is in the worldwide or everywhere else interior the universe. i think of God created Humanity to be able to appreciate this for sure and to no longer must be under some sort of unnatural servitude to their leaders and not for leaders to constantly ought to tell people what they already comprehend...
