Chinese. Most widely spoken.
And China is getting bigger and bigger (not just in terms of population)....
Where in the world is there not a Chinatown?

I want to learn Chinese now, as I'm pretty comfortable in Japanese.
I learnt Japanese pretty much from reading at home and then just trying it out while I lived in Japan. Having the ability to speak to native speakers everyday made it so easy.
I am finding some things about Chinese more difficult than Japanese (pronunciation), but in other areas, it's easier (reading / writing / grammar)
I think Korean is fascinating. The syllabary is fantastic, and it's the only 'invented' one I am aware of. (As opposed to evolved over 100s or 1000s of years!) Grammatically Korean is quite similar to Japanese.
Of the three I think Chinese is definitely the language which will prove most useful in business and travel in the future.

i have learned japanese (up to the intermediate level) while i was in college and the reason i took it was because i know Chinese would be more difficult and that a lot of people were gunning for Spanish and i don't want to meddle with them. Korean wasn't offered.. too bad. Japanese was hard but it was really interesting.

Japanese. I used to live in Japan and I never really mastered the language, but I really wish I had. It's very easy to speak mostly English over there because most Japanese people study it in school and are eager to use their English skills on Americans when they have the opportunity.

I personally like Chinese (Mandarin.) I have been studying it for about 4 and a half years, and have had the opportunity to live in Taibei, Beijing and Tianjin.
