been asking questions in other language and lots of them and how is that? And, if I go to another county's Yahoo and ask or answer a question there does it transfer to here? What is going on with that?

OK I am really happy that there are now links to international sites. I have an account with one already and I think now if I want to practice my Spanish I need to go there.
I used to go to chats when they were free and I practiced my language skills (or lack of) there.

I answer in French on the French site and my Q and A are also transfered here.
You are not the only one. I got a violation for answering (fact) a Q in French on the French site...I wrote back asking exactly why and got an answer in English : look at community guidelines.
I just said that the word pyjama came from India in French !!
People do not know where you posted your Q anyway.......so now you can ask in whatever language and let uptight people get angry all they want for that !
The nevyn and co. are still unable to comprehend that now quite a few languages are being used and it IS allowed .
Your Q and A are all mixed up together, they don't go into separate categories.
Vaness : obviously one should answer in English if the Q is in English etc.....I don't start answering in French to an English question and have seen that other people do the same.

Hi! the answers.questions you write on another Yahoo!answers shouldn't be seen on the American one. I answer on the French and the American one, but they only show on the one I answered (except if I go to my profile, of course). They just started the international sites; I guess it will take a while before it works properly.
And I think it's normal not to be able to write in another language. I mean, what would you think if I strated writing in French? If everybody did it, it would take ages to find an answer that you understand!
What's more, there's an AMerican Yahoo!Answers in Spanish. And there's also a Spanish one, and a Mexican one I think. So you have plenty of space to practise.

It is against the rules to ask a question in a language other than English on the English version of this site. Many people do it but it has to be reported to be able to be taken down. See it, report it, it goes away.

Good luck figuring out what goes on with that. Even my answers in Spanish to a question (they asked for the answer in Spanish) got reported. Some people have nothing better to do with their time.

I don't know why they do that, they should have English, Spanish, and other languages. Pero tu sabes hay mucha gente ignorante que como no tienen una cultura propia atacan a los que si la tenemos.

you get a violation if people think you were being offensive but i wouldn't have thought you would get it for posting a question in another language unless you mispelt or mis pronounced some thing :)
