From a Bible believing, bible teaching church, absolutely.

Reason being, immorality must be judged. Homosexuality is immoral and not the fruit of salvation. "Do not be decieved...homosexuals will not inherit the kingdom of God. Such were some of you; but you were washed, but you were sanctified, but you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and in the Sprit of our God." (1 Cor 6) This sinful perversion is condemned always, in any form, by Scripture (Lv 18:22; 20:13; Ro 1:26,27; 1Ti 1:10).

"I wrote to you not associate with any SO CALLED brother if he is an immoral person...not even to eat with such a one. For what have I to do with judgeing outsiders? Do you not judge those who are WITHIN THE CHURCH? But those who are outside, God judges. REMOVE THE WICKED MAN FORM AMONG YOURSELVES." (1 Corintians 5)

Paul expected the Corinthians to disassociate with all who SAID THEY WERE CHRISTIANS, but has a consistent pattern of sin. The meal was a sign of acceptance and fellowship in those days. Paul never intended himself or the church to be judges of unbelievers outside the church, but to judge those inside. Those on the outside are for God to judge and believers to evangelize. Those who sin on the inside, the church is to PUT OUT.

According to the Bible, those who are OUTSIDE are for God to judge and believers to evangelize. Those who LIVE IN (and there's a big difference between "living" in homosexuality and "battling" the temptation of sexual immorality) sin on the INSIDE, the church is to PUT OUT.

So, you are suggesting we ban gay couples from church...why not babies who cry and scream during services and the parents who either don't or can't control them.? ..why not old people...who might not hear so good ow walk so good? why not a christian from another denomination, or a person looking for God who has committed murder or rape?

What I'm trying to say is if you can justify removing one group for a reason, then ever so slowly you'll find other reasons to ban other groups of people. Perhaps the group they one day bann from church could affect you, then what would you say?

There are naturally many church's that you would never find a gay couple in...mine is one where you will not just find them in the church/pews but where they are also being married and ordained. Jesus welcomes all to the banguet table of His mercy. Can't we imitate his actions in this life by welcoming all to the Houses of prayer we are in?

These are but thoughts, but I'm sure you understand.

Blessings

Bp. David

I think any church that teaches from the bible has the right to ban gay couples from attending, since it clearly states that homosexuality is an abomination.

I would fully expect any church the DOES knowingly allow gay couples should also allow prostitutes, incestuous couples, and swingers into its pews as well. After all, to allow a couple that is committing what the bible states as morally unacceptable behavior into the congregation would only raise the bar for the next "exception". Homosexuality goes against the principals set forth in scripture, which is the entire basis of the church.

Am I the only one that notices the erosion of society at the hand of exceptions, over-political correctness and the vast majority being expected to cater to special interests? Come on, people! Wake up...

Hmmm, I have thought about this question too. I don't think it's right to BAN anyone from anything, but my question is always why a gay couple would WANT to go to church in the first place? I guess maybe it depends on what kind of church it is, too, what religion and all. But basically if it's a fundementally Bible-oriented church and the Bible says that homosexuality is a SIN, then why would a gay couple want to go to a Christian church anyway? Isn't that kind of like going to McDonald's and being pissed that they won't serve you a Whopper? The idea behind a Christian church is to help you to be more like God and less like a sinner, right? So if a gay couple wanted to go to church for redemption/salvation/whatever, isn't walking in the doors kind of like saying that you're eventually going to turn away from your significant other once the church has "spiritually guided" you that way? I don't know, man. It's pretty shaky stuff. Good luck and all. It might not be a good answer but it's awfully late here. I guess I stick with my original first sentence/question, being "Why would a gay couple WANT to go to church, anyway?"

Church is not meant for the righteous it is meant for all those seeking to find a better way of life and to find forgiveness. I do not agree with the gay marriage or lifestyle.... but still I would say NO. No one seeking God should ever be turned away from Church. NO, to banning Gay couples from church.

In my church, they would have to see the pastor first, and if they are repentant and want to accept Christ as Lord and Saviour, and turn away from their sin, they would be welcome, but as this is hardly the case. How could a pastor who proclaims God's Word, condone homosexuality, which the Lord our God has forbidden. It is written."Homosexuals will not enter into the kingdom of heaven." Paul went to prison for speaking out against these detestable things. Christianity came at a great price.

I don't think anyone should be banned from church as long as they aren't disrespecting it while they're there. Like......you know, no one should be making out in church, gay or straight. No one should be flirting in church, gay or straight. No one should be cursing in church, gay or straight. And I know in some churches ppl glare at you if you're holding hands married or not, sooo.....
yeah if you respect the church while there...what's the problem? are we not all sinners?

It is flat wrong, they are human too, trying to find Jesus Christ, just like everyone else in Church, they have sin and want to be forgiven.

If you tell a sinner they can't come to church, then your in danger of the big Judgment

personally, i don't care anymore.

my questions are:

1. why do some gay people push themselves to church when they know the church doesn't want them?

2. why does the church keep on discriminating and butting over gay people's business when all the while gay people aren't doing anything to them?

If you dont want them, the pagan community will be more than happy to accept them with open arms. Ironically, you are alienating the very couples that could help you make abortion illegal. Illegal abortion means more unwanted children being born and more children being given up for adoption. More married gay couples means more responsible parent teams willing to adopt unwanted children and give them good homes.

I have an even better idea - ban all the hypocrites from Church - you'll find that the church is empty.
