A Muslim is an adherent of Islam. Literally, the word means "one who submits to God". Most Muslims accept as a fellow Muslim anyone who has publicly pronounced the Shahada, which states, "there is only one God and he is Allah, and Muhammad is his messenger."
Muslims believe that the basics of Islam existed long before Muhammad (May peace be upon him). Muslims describe many figures also found in the Bible, such as Adam, Moses (Musa) and Jesus as Muslims because they are said to have submitted to God and preached his message as prophets. Muslims believe that Jesus, Adam, Moses, and the rest of the prophets have no relativity to Allah. They are only chosen by Him to get the occupants of the land to live with his laws and rules.

Hey Grim.....just a suggestion but maybe you should invest in a new, modern and up to date dictionary. If nothing else perhaps your computer has a reference program that includes a dictionary. I am looking at mine as I type and it defines Muslim as....follower of Islam, someone who believes in and practices Islam.

Its the people who belong to the religion of Islam. Islam is nothing but a perfected religion, more like an amalgamation of other religions where all flaws have been perfected so that all Muslims follow rigidly ad blindly and unquestioningly whats written in their book. That is how they all follow the same ideology without questioning or asking for justification. What the book says has been magnificently interpreted by their priests and the common man simply adheres leaving his sensibility behind

Generally a bigoted, dim wit... poor in English grammar, angry with the US, getting easily provoked when his/her religion is criticized or made fun of, lost in the modern world, loser, thought to be a terrorist even before he opens his mouth. Not open to ideas at all. Too proud of his legacy. Does not generally achieve much in life... looks so weird and out of place. Lost!
