For eg. How can a person find me just by my nickname ie Sweet Jones?

you can use the advanced search function to search for his questions. I can then go and email or IM said person if they allowed that in their options.

scroll all the way to the top. click on the advanced button by the search button. type in the nickname, then click search. and there ya go, you found the person you were looking for.

i don't know how to find by nickname
but a chat friend of mine was using yahoo answers
i told him that i want to answer his questions
he told me one of his questions
then i copy paste that question below that question many questions were automatically open
when we type a question yahoo answers automatically shows us similar questions asked
then i clicked on my friends name
and i was able to answer his question
i think u should try this
