I learned english really quick by just watching alot of television, especially comedies b/c they are very witty and quick when they speak. Just listening to how they talk, excluding curse words, and imitating them has been the best method. And you learn without really trying. Also, any chance you get practice by talking with friends and co-workers a/b casual things like the weekend break or the whether.

Well I didn't go through learning it the way you are, but I think that there are English classes that you can take that help you learn the language. Also they sell books and tapes that you listen to which help with pronounciation of words and familiarize you with the language. Listening to all the radio and television you can will also help you gain new vocab words.
