"If ye love me keep my commandments. And I will pray the Father and He shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever. Even the Spirit of Truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him; but ye shall know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you. But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you"
(John, 14: 15-17 & 26).

In this passage from John, Jesus promises another consoler: the Spirit of Truth, which the world did not yet know because it was not sufficiently mature to be able to understand. This is the consoler sent by the Father to teach mankind all things and to call to mind all that Christ had said. Therefore, if this Spirit of Truth was to come at a later date to teach these additional matters, then it was because Christ had not told everything.

Christ spent only 3 years teaching......So most probably he just laid a good foundation for the future....It is the spirit of truth that reminds and teaches us about God

Jesus took great care and time to teach his disciples, and when they may not have understood he did go through the subject over again, it is not new information or extra information the holy Spirit would help his followers in our day,and stand by them, remind them of what Jesus told them, this would be clearer to them in this age,as they may not have fully understood the finer details of things he talked to them about since they were living in times long before this time, it is not new information as such but it is clearer because it is in the time Jesus was prophesying about where things are clearer to them, For example today we know that our earth has been ruined by pollution and other ways, if you told someone living say 150 or so years ago about the earth being ruined they would not have understood how the earth could get ruined, yet, today, people widely do understand how the earth can be ruined, and since Jesus followers now live those times that he prophesied about, so in that sense it is new understanding to them ,with the help of the Holy Spirit of Truth, but it is not new information, I hope that helps!

It is not because Christ was not properly understood nor to teach anything new.

The passage that you quoted says "bring all things to your remembrance". We need reminders because we often forget, because we are rebellious in the core and because there is an enemy trying to bribe us from doing what is right.

This tells us that the Christian life is a supernatural life, impossible to live in our own strength and that is why Jesus promised the Helper/Comforter to stay beside us, guide us, empower us and lead us into all the truth. In other words, Christian life is just allowing Christ to live His life in and through us. Those who know Jesus know this truth.

When these verses are read in the Amplified Bible(which lists in brackets alternate meanings of the words based on their translation) it is interesting to note that it says the following for verses 16 & 17:

"And I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Comforter (Counselor, Helper, Intercessor, Advocate, Strengthener, and Standby), that He may remain with you forever--The Spirit of Truth, Whom the world cannot receive (welcome, take to its heart), because it does not see Him or know and recognize Him. But you know and recognize Him, for He lives with you [constantly] and will be in you."

then in 26 it says

"But the Comforter (Counselor, Helper, Intercessor, Advocate, Strengthener, Standby), the Holy Spirit, Whom the Father will send in My name [in My place, to represent Me and act on My behalf], He will teach you all things. And He will cause you to recall (will remind you of, bring to your remembrance) everything I have told you."

Could it be that the "Spirit of Truth" is just another name for the Holy Spirit?

By all means and with complete accuracy Jesus(peace be upon him) prophesized about Muhammad(peace be upon him) if people understand and interpret it correctly.
Jesus(peace be upon him) did say that he is not sent but to find the lost sheeps of the house of Israel i.e. for a particular nation and for a limited period of time.
He is the final comforter after him whose message(Quran) will dwell till the doomsday.

I wouldn't say that christ was not properly understood. I would say that trust in his revelations has faded in his absence. And, that should such a spirit visit, then we would simply be given a more believable reminder.

He was probably talking about the coming of a prophet after Him. Say, probably he was talking about Prophet Muhammad.

Or you guys can still be ignorant and deny THAT too...
Why do I even bother...?

The bible is a book of mythology that claims all kinds of things that never happened, or aren't going to happen.
