Please see the webpages for more details on Smoking, Smoking hazards, Smoking and smokless tobacco, Tobacco use, and Smoking-tips on how to quit. Numbness means reduced blood circulation and consequent damage of nerve cells in your big toe.
Solution:- Stop smoking and take vitamin suppliments to reduce further damage to the nerve cells.

Yes ,it could.
Common causes of toe numbness are:
1. Ill-fitting footwear
2. Cold weather
3. Hereditary
4. Immobility for prolonged periods.
5. Certain drugs- including nicotine
6. Certain diseases
lf you have no other symptoms but numbness of the large toe, without limitations of movement or ulceration,l wouldn't worry.Just change your foot wear, have warm footbaths, and massage with foot cream.
If there are other symptoms.see your doctor.
Stopping smoking is ALWAYS a good idea, and the sooner the better...

Some thyroid disorders can be cured, but many require lifetime treatment. Learn here https://tr.im/ksTA9
For example, sometimes early stage thyroid cancer can be cured by surgery to remove the thyroid gland, but you will need to take thyroid hormone medication afterwards for the rest of your life. Goiters can also be surgically removed and do not always recur after surgery. In most cases, thyroid disorders need treatment over a lifetime. However, with treatment most people with thyroid disorders can live normal, healthy lives.

It is probably just a trapped nerve - Go and see your GP - you will be able to get peace of mind then and you won't need to worry about it any more - the GP will advise you to stop smoking too, but that's no difference to any other advice you are getting online here anyway!

Ask your doctor about an exercise routine. Regular exercise, such as walking three times a week, may reduce neuropathy pain, improve your muscle strength and help control blood sugar levels. Gentle routines such as yoga and tai chi might also help.

I had this very same problem awhile ago & you have just reminded me of it. I have just noticed that it has gone & my toe feels normal. I didnt go to the doctor & I have never smoked. So it may go away by itself. Good Luck & dont worry
