Why is it that you will meet people who hate cats, and very few people that hate dogs?

The exact question is, is that people who hate cats would love to kill them and probably without guilt, but people that hate dogs mostly just try to avoid them, but don't have the desire to kill them? WHY!?

This is a psychology question, and derived from my own insight of listening to people in the last 40 years on this subject!

I know a problem I have with cats, or more specifically cat owners, is that cats get let out and run around the neighborhood. They deficate and urinate on people's propery and run across roads and in traffic. Dogs usually are kept in yards, houses or on leashes. Cat owner's, as been my experience, don't take the resposable actions needed to own an animal.

I hear things like, "Cat's need to be free! And have to experience the outdoors and not be locked up" and Dogs don't? I have very large non dangerous snakes, but if I let them wonder the streets I would be fined, the snakes would be taken from me. I also hear, "I have to let it out or it will claw up my furniture." Because having a cat declawed is unnatural. Appearently having it's balls cut off or overies removed is fine though.

Currently I have a broken window in my car. Cats got in and urinated everywhere. They shreaded paperwork I had in the car as well. That's my car. I shouldn't have to deal with that from other people's pets.

I have had a cat get caught in my parent's vent system of their house and spent hours getting it out. Before that I had a cat caught under my house's siding and had to remove panels to get it out. I even ran a cat over on the street once and had the owner scream at me that I should have seen this tiny black animal run across the street in the middle of the night.

So that is where my anger comes from.

This really makes no sense...I have never heard of such a theory..People who will kill and abuse cats will do the same thing to a dog because those kinds of people are just evil..

I do not care for cats but I would never hurt one. I am allergic to cats since I was little so I learned to kind of push them away. I cannot touch them they cannot touch me, I swell up and itch..

What your talking about is someone who wants to hurt the animals, or at least that is what I got from it.. Where you come up with the idea that someone who would kill a cat and not a dog is beyond me. It just makes no sense.
