A 'scientific' explanation would say that you will just die. No thinking,no dreaming, no breathing, no existing.
Thankfully I have faith in God.

Well if you reject all spiritual ideas of the after-life, then the only option is that all functions associated with life, whether it is thinking or anything else, is finished. Game over. No hope. Think about it - life involves energy to make your body function. If there is no spirit and the physical body is dead, there is nothing. How can you think without energy operating the brain? Frankly, I'd rather believe in something that gives me hope for life after death. Now if you think there is a spirit separate from our physical body that science hasn't explained yet, that is a different story. But how can science prove our disprove a spirit that is not directly observable? It can't. So you're left with either nothing or faith in an anfterlife.

The answer is there is no "life" after death.
Life as you know it does not continue. However is there another reality after death, who knows; but the life as you know it today will not be remembered, your memories are gone because the vessel (your brain, your biological computer) can't go with you; the hard drive is erased, the memory is gone.
Perhaps the process of our atoms achieving sentience is pre-ordained; we could return to the state from which we came, where we didn't need these vessels to experience universe's space and time.
We could be sub-routines for a greater program... ;) So if you can prove that there is a way to upload your memories or the essence of your being before dying, then your memories and potentially the ability to perceive what happens after you die may be intact somewhere.
Remember, without your life experiences to which to compare your new afterlife experience, there is no frame of reference.
Think about a new born, most of us can't remember crap before 2 years of age, it's because we had not learned how to remember because we didn't know the name of things, how they looked, etc.; we simply didn't know how to build a directory yet for retrieval.
I know many of you don't want to hear that, so enjoy the life you have now, it's a short one.

Interesting!
I was in a horse accident and was left for dead at the hospital. I had alot of injuries. A team of Doctors decided to do surgery to stop internal bleeding.
I am not religious at all, but do believe in a higher power, and yes, we do live after this life.
During the surgery I began to hear the Doctors talking. I came up out of my body and felt total peace and NO PAIN what-so-ever. This happened a couple of different times, then I went back into my body again. I tried very hard to stay out because while in my body I felt some of the pain.
A few days after the succesful surgery I was in ICU and told one of the Doctors a story, in great detail, that he had told in the opperating room. He was shocked and had no answer.
I know we continue to live. Where we go I don't know. Why I didn't keep going I don't know.

unless you know someone who has died and come back all your gonna get is theories. how can anyone who is alive tell you?
Read the Bible, it has been proven true more times than not. Read it for yourself, don't just go by what I tell you or what other people tell you. You have to find out the truth for yourself.
If you bought a car would you buy what I told you to buy or what someone else told you to buy? No! You would research the cars out, pull up insurance quotes... etc. But when it comes to faith and religion to many people use other peoples arguments. Do the research yourself and come up with your own.
At the end of this life there will be a test. Are you studying?

We become worm food. One day our sun will go nova and turn the earth into a crispy cinder so we will go back to our component molecules and return to being star stuff which is poetic because we were all created as the by-product of previous supernovae. Since there is no soul, all that matters to humans is that our biological and mental processes come to an end at the time of death. All else is myth and delusion meant to comfort those who fear death and can't deal with the reality that this is the only life humans will ever experience.

Your body starts to decompose. You definitely lose the ability to think after you die because your brain is dead. It does not work anymore.
Beyond that - you're left to religious theories and spiritual guesses.
No one knows what happens after we die besides the obvious - worm food. No one alive can ever tell you what happens after we die because they have not experienced it for themselves.
I'm sorry, but that is the truth. It's not comforting, but that's why people believe in god - because they are afraid of being nothing more than a sack of meat and bones and rotting in the ground after they die.
I won't give you my spiritual theories as you asked not to be bombarded with them.

Scientifically answering ur Q. When we die, we stop everything. No breathing, our body gets hard after 4 hours. The flies will come n they will **** maggots in every crevice they can locate. The maggots will eat in 2 u n more maggots will join them for a big feast on ur carcass. Then gases will form n your carcass will bloat n after a few days, u will disintegrate. Then the birds will come n pick u clean. U rot n become dust. From dust u come, at death, dust u go! Got it? Make sure u attend Science class.!!!!!

What if science does not contain with it the right answer to this spiritual question? Then what? When you die, you will die not know where you will spend eternity.
When it comes to "thinking", you speak of the human soul, not the human body, correct?
If so, only a spiritual "theory", never science, could answer where your soul will spend eternity.
When you die, are you 100% certain you will spend eternity in heaven?

First of all...You will always have those who try to disprove God. Your worldly intellect will not help you a bit in heaven, neither will your money, your worldly power, personality, or your peers. Science will not have a say in it, nor will they be able to back up their theories against our Lord. Let me just say to you, that if you do not want to find God, believe me you won't...at least here on earth. All eyes will see and all ears will hear the truth on judgment day. God loves you enough, he gives you free will to make your own choices. That is right, you make a choice that you can live by or die by. When God is sitting as judge and you are on trial, you can try to explain your scientific theories to him and see where it gets you.
Have you ever been falsely accused? Have you ever dated someone and had rumors go around that were not true. Did you need to try to defend yourself? How about getting blammed for things you did not do at home with your family. ...or with friends? Maybe a teacher, did not believe you when you told her/him something. Well, you see you can never convince 100% of the people 100% of the time. It matters not is you are Pope or US President, Pastor, Judge, accuser, defender etc 50% of the people may believe you and 50% may not.
God tells us not to conform to the world and the ways of the world. He tells us to be a God pleaser and not a man pleaser.
If we look to the world for the truth of Christ, we will never find it. If you want to know Christ get on your knees. Read the Bible, and study it daily. Pray. Build a personal relationship with Christ.
I am sure when you were a teenager, many of your friends would try to convince you that your parents were wrong about things, and that you should not believe them about certain things. It is no different.
If someone does not believe in Christ they are going to try to convince others not to believe. Misery loves company. God loved you enough to let you come to iknow the truth. I think for now you should be thinking of how to live your life and not put the horse in front of the cart and worry about the afterlife. You could not understand or believe in algebraic equations until you learned how to add, subtract, multiply and divide. Start one step at a time. If you want to find the truth, God will reveal it to your heart and life. Talk to him today, and then be willing to follow him to where he leads your life...that is where you will find the truth. God will prove himself, he does not need others to do that for him.
Jesus has been on trial, since the beginning of time. There are prosecutors and defenders. I am choosing to defend Christ. It appears that you are prosecuting him. You have been the judge and allowed those to disprove him to be the jury. Many persons just like that put Christ to death on the cross, they soon realized what they had done, they had sentenced an innocent man to be put to death. Even through his death, man could not destroy him, he rose again, and he prevailed.

you rot, and fade away to nothingness, and yes you do lose the ability to think cuz ur dead, no oxygen to the brain, means no brain fucntion. Science is not always right in teh respect also. they ahve never proved what happens after death, no one can because the person dead can answer back as to what happens. So unless science has proved that fact, it ain't so yet....don;t believe everything you read in black and white
