So we head to the "pearly gates", which are actually brushed steel (far more sensible), and we enter and there on the throne (lazy boy) is God, who is not the God of any worldly religion, but instead the God of reason, logic and sound judgement.

So He reckons, not in a booming voice or anything, that people that lived without believing the unbelievable, and who constantly questioned what was presented, and who lived to the best of their ability with logic and judgement without falling back on Dogma and Myth and thick-headedness would be allowed into heaven.

The people that had blindly believed what they were taught, and who supported governments that simply espoused lies and went to war based on those lies, and who believed unquestioningly the myths and legends that were created to explain what we couldn't understand would be dropped into hell, which is pretty much like earth, except ALL level headedness is gone.

So this is the poser. Imagine this were God. What then? (no more spce)

Ha! Logic, reasoning, science and critical thinking skills are tools of the devil to lure the weak-minded! Blind faith is the only intelligent solution! Besides, I know what God is like because he is described in a book written thousands of years ago, and he has spoken to me, and has ordered me to molest children and do a strip tease before his majesty.

To me you mention the god I expect to be confronted with on judgement day(the god of reason). I question things and try my best to use reason and feel comfortable knowing a just decision will be made of me on judgement day.I was never one for believing the unbelievable till the unbelieable became an undeniable truth for me (refering to god). I know of many times in my life there were no reasonable explanations for surviving some of the trauma experienced in my life. To the extent of my influence I encourage others to use reason and doing so makes a better person , one I feel god would judge favorably. Though I am not perfect by a long shot I think the scales of balence will prevail and I'm comfortable with that thought.

Well, for the most part it seems like the God of the Bible to me. God isn't a God who despises reason. That's why He told this to the Israelites and by extension to everyone who would be saved.

"Come now, let us reason together, says the LORD: though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they are red like crimson, they shall become like wool. If you are willing and obedient, you shall eat the good of the land; but if you refuse and rebel, you shall be eaten by the sword; for the mouth of the LORD has spoken." Isaiah 1:18-20

People aren't told to blindly believe what they are taught...

1 John 4:1 Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, for many false prophets have gone out into the world.

The Bereans were commended for checking what Paul had to say against what God had already revealed...

Acts 17:10 The brothers immediately sent Paul and Silas away by night to Berea, and when they arrived they went into the Jewish synagogue. 11 Now these Jews were more noble than those in Thessalonica; they received the word with all eagerness, examining the Scriptures daily to see if these things were so.

As to people who listen to liars that claim that an amoeba like creature + random mutations + time = the millions of complex creatures on this planet and therefore people who believe the Bible believe in a myth, well this is what God has to say about people like that....

"For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who by their unrighteousness suppress the truth. For what can be known about God is plain to them, because God has shown it to them. For his invisible attributes, namely, his eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly perceived, ever since the creation of the world, in the things that have been made. So they are without excuse. For although they knew God, they did not honor him as God or give thanks to him, but they became futile in their thinking, and their foolish hearts were darkened. Claiming to be wise, they became fools, Romans 1:18-22

...and so I don't think the God you have described would be doing anything with people like that except "dropping them into hell" as you put it.

If there is no god, then what does it matter? Once you're dead, you won't even be aware of anything because you won't exhist.

A god like the one you describe would not be a god. So we're back to what I just said .. who cares?

But the Bible says there IS a God. And the only way to go to Him is through the Salvation He offered us on the Cross. Rejecting Him means you reject eternal life. It sounds like you don't care allready.

you sound like a John Lennon song... Anyway, you can't place your faith in man's ability to reason. I don't think Christianity makes people illogical or unreasonable. A godless society to me is more terrifying and evil than one who adheres (albeit loosely) to Judeo-Christian values.

Imagine all the people... without morality. Decadence and perversion would abound. Everything evil would be legalized. Whose reason, whose logic?
The Bible prophecizes that one day all religion will be outlawed... at the end of days.

But He already the God of reason! He's not on a Laz-e-Boy (sp?), the pearly gates are symbolic, etc, but God and He gave us a brain to use so that we may reason with each other.

He's certainly not the God of confusion, why wouldn't he be the God of reason? Simple, He is.

Look first of all, don't call God a "lazy boy". He is active everytime, so He can't be lazy. Second, God couldnt be hell. He wouldn't like that at all.
