No, I don't want it to drip down their face, but that's what a bathroom is for. Excuse yourself, take care of your business then WASH YOUR HANDS! We know sometimes a sneeze comes on unexpectantly, that's not what I was referring to. I mean people who have no manners and no intention of washing their germy hands. And they continue to eat with those hands. As for the cigarette smoking that someone mentioned-that's another question all together.

A answered a question like this not too long ago and I'll tell you the same:
I think it is rude, sure they don't want it to drip, but if you're going to blow your nose, then excuse yourself from the table and go somewhere like in the bathroom. Even if you aren't looking you can still hear it and that is also gross. Why don't they leave? Because they are showing their laziness, so instead of getting up, they just do it right there on the spot, not caring who gets grossed out because it is only them.

I try not to blow my nose literally, but have chronic sinus problems and even if I take an antihistamine an hour or so before I eat, I frequently have a runny nose while I eat, in fact either the warmth of the food or motion of chewing seems to increase my nose running. I have to keep a kleenex to wipe my nose, and don't like to excuse myself and jump up every minute or so to wipe my nose. I sympathize with somebody who has sinus problems, but it is annoying. My pet peeve is people who sniffle or make noises to keep the stuff in (not only at the table, but on a bus, anywhere in public) or people who use their sleeves for a kleenex. I have actually offered snifflers and sleeve wipers kleenexes. Some seem very offended I would do that, others seem grateful and ask if I have anymore in my purse. I was taught to always have kleenexes with me because of my sinus problems. I am much more bothered by a sniffler than a nose blower, even if it is at the table. I just realized my second paragraph sounds like it could have been a "Seinfeld" episode.

Oh, yes. That's gross. The problem is still what happens if the person has a cold. Should they keep going to the bathroom all night long? Or maybe they should have stayed at home?

That is one of the most horrid habits that seems to be all to common. It would be highly against any type of etiquette and any person with good manners who was raised well would know that it is never acceptable to blow your nose public. That is one good reason to get up from the table and go to the restroom.

Well provided its done properly with a hankachif whats the problem,i mean what if the pepper got up there nose, you cant controll something that happens naturally, surley you dont expect them to retire to the mens,or ladies room,i mean they might not be able to controll it as they got up and sneeze all over you, which would you prefer.

Totally agree. I also hate those old cotton hankies that older men keep screwed up in their pockets... that they keep using several times in one sitting...
Some people make such a loud noise that I never know whether to laugh out loud or tell them to STF up.

It's not right to spread germs. I hope he at least got up to wash his hands...nasty A$$! Never go out in public "under the weather" if you can help it.
