If she's going to an ob/gyn, then she'll have at least one ultrasound throughout the pregnancy where they can tell the sex of the baby. Now there are also companies all over the country that offer 4D ultrasounds, where the images you see look more like the real baby. We did one and it was fun! A little expensive, but definitely worth it. Do a Google search on 4D ultrasound and you should be able to find a company in your area.

umm, as far as I know, the doctor has to order a sonogram, most doctors schedule them routinely. And remember, you can not tell the sex of the baby till the 4th or 5th month of pregnancy, and it's not even for sure that you will be able to tell then, all depends on how the baby is lying and how active it is that day.

The gender of a fetus can be determined between the 6th and 9th weeks of a pregnancy. She can obtian this information with the doctor she has chosen to take care of her throughout the pregnancie. Some physicians do not have high tech equipment in their offices, and therefore send the pregnant females to hospitals etc where they can obtain the results.

Many doctors and hospitals will not perform an ultrasound for the SOLE purpose of determining the gender of the fetus. Assuming your daughter is not in a "high risk" group (e.g. age, health history, etc.) her doctor or midwife may or may not choose to order an ultrasound until there is a medical reason for doing so.

I hope this question doesn't mean your daughter is not getting any prenatal care??!!! Her ob/gyn SHOULD be taking a series of pix of the baby as it develops through each stage of pregnancy. The sex maybe noticable as early as 10 weeks but it is not likely to be accurate until much later.

Her dr should be able to do that. Thats what i did. If the dr doesnt have one try a hospital any hospital with a merternity ward should have one. Good luck and just to tell you from my experiance boys are easier for me at least.

Her obstetrician/midwife should either perform one, or refer her to the hospital to have one. Your daughter IS getting prenatal care from a doctor, isn't she??
