Long through my life I've been interested in what you might call mythology of all religions. Ancient Greek, Shinto, Christian, what have you.
I--as anyone else--have come across names such as Satan, Lucifer, Belial, Leviathan, and many other names that according to some sources are all identifiable with the same character in Judeo-Christian dogma. I've also come across some sources who claim they are all very different characters. The latter sources, however, have always refrained from explaining the differences.
My question, could someone please explain to me the difference between Satan and Lucifer? And if you're familiar with the other names (as well as any i haven't named) would you please explain them too?

Dont hold me to this however I'm almost certain that Lucifer and Satan are on in the same. The difference is the importance behind the names. Lucifer was the angel of light. A beautiful creature who became a victim of his own Pride, and jealousy. He challenged Gods thrown and was cast out of heaven. thus becoming Satan.

To me Lucifer is the light-bearer, the cosmic christ. She (feminine because she is Venus) is the feminine aspect of the christ. Lucifer and Satan are not the same entity. Satan is evil (he is the demiurge), but Lucifer is the provider of the gnosis. Lucifer is the serpent of knowledge, the mind-opener. Lucifer is the Morning Star, the christ...

John 3:14 (Christian dogma)
And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up:

The Son of Man is to be lifted up "as the serpent", so Son of Man ((is)) the serpent.

Lucifer is good; Satan is evil.

My understandings: Lucifer became an archangel, between the three archangels. He became tasked to prepare Adam and Eve. even if, he has gotten jealous, questioning for himself (i.e. selfish recommendations), he tempted Eve. His emotions and moves are organic, even if, he and both Adam and Eve knew what's nice. regrettably, Eve, then later Adam did not adhere to the training that God has given. This compelled Lucifer to develop into devil, or in different words, Adam and Eve 'created' devil out of Lucifer through making a incorrect decision.

They're all names for the same guy. Except Leviathan, that was just a sea monster mentioned in the book of Job. Somehow the name got attached to Satan later but I'm not sure how.

Job1;
6 Now there was a day when the sons of God came to present themselves before the LORD, and Satan[b] also came among them. 7 And the LORD said to Satan, “From where do you come?”

How you are fallen from heaven,
O Lucifer,[b] son of the morning!
How you are cut down to the ground,
You who weakened the nations!

Check Wikipedia. There are differences. For example, Leviathan is associated with water. Lucifer is associated with the planet Venus. Etc.

Lucifer used to be an angel that tried to "take over" and believed that he was smarter/better than God. God cast Lucifer into the pit of fire (Hell) and he then was stripped of his angelic name and became Satan. That is what my ubringing has always taught me anyway.

At least I can explain one to you. SATAN.
God created Angels from non burning light, then another creature from burning light(fire),Djinns and offered a djinn the place of teacher over the angels, who rebelled against Human, a new creature from the dust, dirt or earth if you prefer.
And he is still the same djinn but without the teacher of angels rank. And he swor to take most of humans with him to the hell, and he succeeds to tricks humans because of his superiority in knowledge.
