Some body told that TB is transmitted by air. What is that mean?

The person who had TB and he is not coughing can spread the virus through air? I am staying with my wife in the same room. She had TB and the doctor told it's in initial stage and they given treatment for 8 days and discharged from the hospital. But she is not coughing or sneezing. She is like a normal person and she got discharged from hospital 4 days back. If i am staying with the person he or she had TB, with out cough or sneezing it will effect to me? It can infect to me if i inhale her normal breath if she is not coughing or sneezing?

"TB is transmitted by air" means that you get it by inhaling germs other people are coughing or sneezing, other ways to get diseases are by direct blood contact (like AIDS). If your wife is in the initial stage that means she was in the process of coming down with it herself, not that she's spreading it when she isn't coughing. Is she still taking medication? My son was exposed several years ago and had to take a pill every day for a year. (They may have invented something new now, though). He didn't spread it to the rest of us, either.

Tuberculosis. They need to have a chest x-ray taken to see if the TB is active. When she coughs, is there bleeding? It is an airborne virus so you must protect yourself by having her wear a mask. I would have her get rechecked to see if the TB is dormant. I have TB and mine is dormant but I have to be careful around those that are active otherwise it'll activate it. I took pills for months when I was first diagnosed. It is a common thing for some people from different countries to have TB.
