you need to take it to the vet.

even if he seems to be in an OK position, there is always the chance of internal bleeding and damage to organs.

My dog was hit by a car when she was younger, and had internal bleeding. we did not know until she started to vomit blood.

we took her to the vet right away after that and she needed surgery.

the best thing you can do is have her checked out, and to be sure nothing is broken, and there is no internal damage.

THEN you can give him a nice bed to sleep on, and keep the water dish nearby, so they dont have to get up and walk far for a drink.

keep the house quiet and free of distractions, such as little kids and loud music, etc etc.

Try wrapping a tylenol in some liverwurst. I have a feeling you can't or don't want to afford a vet. I understand. The vet makes you feel guilty for not getting some stupid treatment or another for your pet, even though you have a tough time affording rent. Vets are just really underpaid, and honestly they use this tactic to keep their practice up and running. One tylenol should be plenty. If your dog doesn't respond to the med in an hour, then try giving it some beer. Honestly, if it's gonna die anyway, you are kind to try to make it comfortable. The only other thing I can think of is to shoot it in the head for a quick death. Sorry to be blunt, I know it's not easy, but it's legal in many states.

In response to one of the answers never give your dog Tylenol. It's poison to cats and dogs. If your dog is small half a (preferably buffered) aspirin should be ok.
If you can"t afford a vet maybe try calling a local shelter and see if they can help.

Definitly the vet. Also if you are in a bind money wise and offer to pay what you can to have him looked at, a lot of vets are real nice and will work with you. But you really really need to get him to the vet right away.

Take him to the vet if you have not already done that. Something could be broken and he would need pain relief the poor thing. If you have done this just sit with him and love him. Let him know your feeling his pain too and that you care.

If you love your dog, take him to the vet. They work out payment plans for people who can't afford it. But please don't just let him sit around and suffer
