i'm not quite sure what you mean by that question, however I will try to answer it to some extent. You can never pick and choose when it comes to the bible. You take it or you leave it. However in some denominations, they have changed the bible to fit their own agenda (at least in my town), which is upsetting and unacceptable.
18 I testify to everyone who hears the words of the prophecy of this book, if anyone adds to them, may God add to him the plagues which are written in this book.
19 If anyone takes away from the words of the book of this prophecy, may God take away his part from the tree of life, and out of the holy city, which are written in this book.
20 He who testifies these things says, "Yes, I come quickly." Amen! Yes, come, Lord Jesus.
21 The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ be with all the saints. Amen.
---Revelation 22

interesting question... it's something everyone does, denies doing, and then blames people who disagree with them of doing. I find people who say things like 100% of the Bible is true to be truly terrifying... partly because they're so ignorant, but more because there are so very many people who believe just that. The Bible is full of contradictions. The Bible is full of paradoxes and allegories and things that were never meant to be interepreted realistically or seriously. Therefore it's impossible for it to be 100% true and anyone with a genuine interest in knowing God and studying the words of prophets and other believers should KNOW that...

Yes. Why not? Every thing should be seen in its context. The King James version is accepted as the latest Bible version. But to amend it you require another glorified person called 'Prophet' who must be trusted by the followers. None of these pontiffs sitting at Rome qualify for this. What will happen to the future of the Bible, God alone will decide provided, of course, if it is divinely ordained at all!

component of serious thinking is to circumvent conclusions based upon the incorrect sort of evidence. as an occasion, the "sabbath made for guy" is a classic occasion of eisegesis: taking a passage out of context, and extrapolating it previous the scope of the context. "guy" right that's the Greek observe, "anthropos" and can propose one guy, any subset of guys, or all mankind. The context and the context of Scripture, demands the awareness of the subset of guys referred to as Israelites who have been a criminal party to the previous covenant wherein is got here upon the sabbath commandment. Jesus did no longer practice the folk serious thinking. He purposely taught the folk in parables for the purpose of disguising the motive of what He replace into asserting so as that they does not understand. FWIW: An "atheist" is individual who does not have faith there's a God. individual who's detached is agnostic. .

They seem to be able to pick and choose only the ones they like,
and ignore what they don't like.

I suppose, if you feel that you are so above the "unalterable word of God" that you can just ignore some of it.
