Should you keep taking antibiotics if you catch a cold at the same time?

I've been taking antibiotics (Pen VK) for a week for a bad tooth. This morning I woke up with a fever of 100 and a sore throat, and a runny nose. Should I keep up the Pen VK?

I was prescribed antibiotics for a tooth infection a week ago. This morning, I woke up with what seems to be a head cold (fever, sore throat, etc). Should I stop taking my antibiotics, or finish out the dose?

Yes, definitely keep taking the prescription you were given.
The purpose of those antibiotics is to prevent a bacterial infection in your tooth. If you have a cold, that is a viral infection which will not be affected by the antibiotics and vice versa. Since the virus will temporarily weaken your immune system the antibiotics will be crucial to prevent a bacterial infection cos your immune system will need all the help it can get.
- keep taking those drugs ; )
- if the tooth does get worse & you do get an infection then go back to your dentist for further treatment

YES....take it for the tooth infection...unless your doctor tells you to stop...you must finish all antibiotics as prescribed. If pple take antibiotics until they feel well, instead of taking until finished...that is how super infections are born...they become resistant to the antibiotics.

Your body may become resistant to the antibiotics, they should only be used if you develop an infection, not for a common cold ore flu

I dont think u have take this more. You use homeopathic medicine because no side effects in this medicines.

ask your doctor.......colds are viral, antibiotics are for bacterial infections
