I believe that we are all here for a purpose, but that God gives us free will so we can choose to follow him or not. He loves everyone equally no matter what.

Man is pre - destined, it is an axiom; which does not have any supporting evidence to prove. But whether Israelites are favored and if so, does it happen eternally, I am doubtful. Even Israelites suffered in past, much more than Muslims of Palestine, Iraq and Pak occupied Kashmir or the South- Afghans to-day. Hence, to say that a particular class is favored always; - does not hold good.
One thing is clear that self-conceit is never tolerated by the God whom Hindus identify with the vast Nature. Nature instantly punishes individuals as well as groups of people if vanity and self-conceit transgresses its limits. God is Just, because Justice is Truth and God is Truth. How he could be partial and favor someone, and disfavor him to whom it is due? Justice is to give some one his due and what God has given is that much we deserve, nothing more and nothing less. But since we do not know what we deserve till the end, we should strive to act positively without hankering for the result of our actions.

God established His covenant with the Jews who, in turn, were to be a light to the Gentiles. As for predestination, do NOT believe any lie that would have you think that God plays favorites and plans ahead of time to save some and send the rest to hell. This false doctrine is unfortunately embraced by many "Christians" based on the false teachings of John Calvin. Calvinists, as they are known, have taken only SOME of the scriptures and embraced the lie of "pre-destination" of SOME people upon whom God will have mercy and save. This is simply NOT TRUE in light of the WHOLE COUNSEL OF GOD (the bible taken as a whole, rather than picked over portions). God pre-destined ALL mankind to receive forgiveness and remission of sins through the propitiary sacrifice of His only begotten son, Jesus Christ. God is not willing that ANY man should perish. Man IS predestined...to be saved--meaning restored to a right relationship with God, according to John 3:16. In the New Testament we read that Jesus got into plenty of trouble because He let it be known that Gentiles, with the law of God written on their hearts, had a better chance at heaven than did the Jewish leaders in His day, who were hypocrites. Also, the story of the Samaritan woman at the well, to whom Christ witnessed, and His parable of The Good Samaritan both reveal God's lack of prejudice. One verse says that in God's sight there is neither "Jew nor Greek, male nor female", etc.
The apostle Paul once rebuked Peter for treating the Gentiles one way when the Jewish leaders were around and another way when they were not. Paul also tells us that all believers are the "children of Abraham" at this time.
Yes, God knows who will be saved, in other words, who will choose Him, and who will choose against Him. Let us remember Jesus on the Cross asking God to forgive the Roman soldiers for crucifying Him, because they did not know what they were doing. God plays favorites, all right. You are His favorite, and I am His favorite...and ______is His favorite, and he....and she....You get the point. If you want specific Scriptures, feel free to message me. I'd give you some now if it weren't for the lateness of the hour. Blessings to you. Buttercup

The Israelites were supposed to be a 'light' to the Gentiles, to give them the opportunity to know God for themselves. God says in the Bible, that none should perish', which means He wants EVERYONE to know Him, however, we have to want to get to know Him. God gave us free will to accept or reject Him. Predestination is simply the fact that God is outside of time, so the future has already happened for Him, and He knew before you were born whether or not you would accept Him. Our prayers do make a difference but they have been part of what God has always known.

NO - God does NOT have favourites!!!
Some stories in the bible had more relevance to historical societies than current times. However the spiritual energy that runs through the bible in terms of ethics and morals and how to lead a spiritual life are valid, so essentially we have to take the message behind the story, not the story itself. And the bible has to be taken in the whole of its context not in part.
God is everything! and at the beginning everything was good (high resonating energy). When man decided that he wanted power for himself, man created bad (low resonating energy)
At the most microscopic everything is pure energy and that IS God and WE are ALL minute particles of the whole. The aim of our lifes journey is to return to the higher collective consciousness that is God! - without exception - but God gave us free will so we all have the choice!

In the Old Testament, God had chosen people, but in Christianity He sent His son for the sins of all. Jesus death and resurrection on the cross opened the door to all people. If one believes in Christianity then they acknowledge that they are sinful and that the only way to bridge the separation between God and man is through Christ.
In that mindset and believing that Christ was sent for all, I would say that God does not play favorites because the door is opened for all. It is a matter of accepting it or not.

If God truly had the power to save people.. why doesn't he do it in everyday life.
Why do some people 'deserve' to die.. or at least just die (deserving, undeserving - whatever)?
Why do bad things happen to good people?
Why do some people that do have a deep rooted belief in God have their children die.. or lose their jobs and their homes?
The answer you always get is God works in mysterious ways.. or it's not for us to know.
That's because it can't be explained.. but people take that as God's work.
If you WANT to believe.. that's fine. But how about just living your life right and not worrying about what's going to happen in the end.
I don't believe that living your life according to God's rules makes one bit of difference if you just live right all the time anyway.

Yes, God does play favorites. I don't think God cares much about people that don't look like me and don't like Fox TV and don't smoke the same cigarettes as me. Neither does God like the people beneath me and my kind, we are God's chosen people. God just likes good people like me. I'm better than other people and that's why I am God's chosen guy. God doesn't much care about the Israelites any more, He got tired of them, now He's hanging out with a cooler type of human, like me and my friends. Or friend. Yeah, me and my friend, He likes us and we are his chosen buddies.

pre-destination? no
if predestination were true, then why does the Bible say to spread the gospel?
why does John 3:16 say that he loved the whole world that NONE should perish?
however I do believe being a all- knowing God, he does know those who will accept his gift of salvation as well as the ones that won't, not because they were predestined, but because he knows everything.
