Having been a runner (non-professional) for almost twenty years, your answer will be a definite no, but don't panic. The pains are caused by any number of things from dehydration to what and when you ate last. My suggestion would be to see a doctor who specializes in sports medicine. If its dehydration, you may be over-running your body's preparedness for the activity and the solution may be as simple as increasing your daily water intake. The doctor should be able to give a more detailed answer.

Sometimes when you first begin running, you might get what we use to call "a stitch" in your side. This is because your body isn't use to running. This can also sometimes happen when you increase either your pace or your distance.
What isn't "normal" is when the pain continues even after you've been running at the faster pace or the longer distance for several weeks. If it does, see your physican for a checkup.

Yes....
But make sure you don't do this often - if you are getting cramps, pull over, cool down slowly and take rest.
If the pains get severe, make sure you don't run on too empty or too full stomach.
It's best not to run within an hour of having your meal.
If problems persist, go check with your doctor!
