To answer your first question.
North Korea should not have them because they are very likely to become an international security threat. Remember the Korean War isn't over it is only at a cease fire for the last several decades. North Korea continues to spread propaganda material into South Korea. North Korea uses international aid to not feed it's peoples, but primarily it's military instead. If you live in North Korea you really are subject to 24/7 government monitoring, unable to view sources of information or entertainment from outside the country. Basically a prisoner in a false utopian society.

To answer your second question
We are not the only other nation that has them legally. So this question holds no validity.

Actually it is OK for North Korea to have missiles. It is not OK for North Korea to have nuclear missiles. That would be in direct violation of the Nuclear Non-proliferation Act which North Korea signed (but has since withdrawn). Other than that, RoNK doesn't help it's cause of lifting UN sanctioned embargoes by continuing hostile acts such as this long range missile deal. The North Korean people will continue to suffer and starve because their leaders are tyrants.

The country of North Korea is a rogue country run by a leader who suffers from paranoia thinking it is best to build nuclear weapons as a deterent from other countries they deem as a threat. The North Korean goverment also refuses to have any part of the International Nuclear Nonproliferary Act and has threatened to use such weapons on countries such as Japan and the United States. Its is not the fact of whether they have missiles or not it is what their intent on firing such long range missile is for. The United States for the reasons mentioned considers firing such a missile as an Internatioal threat as well as a threat to the continental US. The U S may or may not still have a first strike policy. What some of these countries do not understand is, the US has the capability to deliver such destructive weapons by land, sea and air in a fierce retaliatory attack.

I think there are 4 reasons for that:

- North Korea's missiles could reach major cities in USA.

- USA, doesn't trust the government of NK.

- Missiles of North Korea threat countries in Asia, like Japan .

- North Korea may sell these missiles to countries who are not friends to USA, like syria and Iran.

Let's be realistic, do you actually think that Korea, or other third world country don't have missiles, think again, korea as of right now is being under investigation of HIDING nuclear weapons that can destory half of the U.S. China has massive weapons that can destory the population of canada in a matter of seconds. One more thing, the Asians have created a liquid that is no less than 3 oz. which can extinct North and South America in one day.

Because there is an inherent danger in nuclear proliferation.

If the US alone has nuclear devices, there is no reason to use them.

If there are 2 nuclear powers (say, the old Soviet Union and the U.S.), a war could be started by the Soviets. Or a war could be started by the US --that's two reasons that could come up.

If there are 3 nuclear powers (say, US, USSR and China),

1 The US could start a war nuking USSR
2 The US could start a war nuking China
3 USSR could start a war nuking US
4 USSR could start a war nuking China
5 China could start a war nuking US
6 China could start a war nuking USSR

That's 6 ways of starting a nuclear war.

6 is also 3x2x1 for the three nuclear powers.

Add a fouth nuclear power, and the ways of starting a nuclear war jump to 4x3x2x1 = 24

Add a fifth nuclear power, and the ways of starting a nuclear war jump to 5x4x3x2x1 = 120.

So EVERY ADDITIONAL NUCLEAR COUNTRY explodes the potential for nuclear war. that's why there's a nuclear non-proliferation treaty.

that's why North Korea can't have missiles. Because it very seriously endangers peace for them to get them EVEN IF THEY AREN'T THE ONES TO INITITATE A NUCLEAR STRIKE.

Love peace? Gotta hate nuclear proliferation. Simple math.

Because US wants other independent countries be unarmed against some occupier countries including US.
Even US doesn't want other countries achieve out new technologies for peaceful purposes, because they want others be dependent them for ever.

You know, missiles are unique equipments can carry satellites.

If somebody /a country protest to US crimes, they calming it's a threat, because US has Military base government and protesters will make it some troubles.
As usual, US claiming other countries are threats, because they need some excuses for invading them for achieve out US benefits.

Regarding to history, it was US that invaded Korea for some strategic matters and nowadays US has some forces in S. Korea. If US is worry about other countries reaction, it should change its policy.

I mentioned you some politic and economic matters, you can find more information by studying history and reading/watching political media.

Power spoiling powerful people & countries and history is repeated again.

because the united states likes to assert authority over other nations and it feels that it knows best how to use or not use thier weapons, although north korea is not as big of a threat as people have exaggeraated it to be. There are many other countries that are much more of a threat. Personally, though i think the us is a big bully that intimidates other nations and is very hypocritical in its global image

Hey, I don't like the idea of Nukes in Communist hands. You never know what they are going to do. Here, in the US, we have freedom of speech, press, and a democracy. Korea, they have secrecy and lies. I am not saying the Gov. has not covered or lied about anything. It is just, We are more trustworthy with Nukes. If we started nuking countries, there would be a huge uproar. The president would be pulled out of office as quick as you can say Antidisestablishmentarianism. So, that is why Korea can't have Nukes.
