I am definitely environmentally concious, because I feel that I have a responsibility to live as sustainably as possible, so that in the future, generations to come will be able to live to see the same world I have seen (in terms of natural resources) and live in a place where the air is as clean as can be, and thus do not live to pay the concequences that prior generations have bestowed on them. I highly disagree with those who believe that we should not do anything to help the environment, because of the belief that everything will eventually deplete and our sacrifices to help the environment today will not pay off! In fact, I strongly believe the opposite. It is in the last fifty years that human population has skyrocketed, and along with technologies such as the industrial revolution, consumption and production and reaping of resources has increased in wild ammounts. Americans especially, are insatiable consumer monsters that are responsible for consuming more than any other country in the world, and as an American myself, I feel even more responsibility to do my part in helping the environment. I recycle, I consume less than average, my ecological footprint is 1.8 (http://www.earthday.net/footprint/index.asp), I utilize public transportation, I use my bycicle, I dont waste water, and I am an environmental public policy student that will work to help improove the environment for myself and the rest of the world along with every living species that resides in it. I am deeply passionate about environmental issues, and will continue doing everything I can to help the environment.

Yes, I have always lived in the country. I like the fresh air to breath and the beautiful outdoors to look upon. If I don't make it a concise effort to not destroy the land that gives me life, who will? I might get a few more thing I have to throw away at the end of a trip but next time I go that way it will be a pleasant path to take. I have seen enough forest fires to know all it takes is a few weeks of drought and a cigarette butt to take out a forest. If everyone would think before they act then it would not just be "little ol'me". It would be a world of people and that could save our planet. So do your part and I'll do mine and we can hope the rest of the world will do the same.

I drive only when needed.
I dispose of my old or unneeded medications though Walgreens Safe Water Program.
Um..I only had one child to do my part in preventing over population.
I recycle my ink cartridges, any aluminum cans (which are few), give the pull tabs to charities.
I co-op on a tree farm which is mainly a wild life sanctuary.
Um...I buy used clothing, shop the garage sales and I keep my personal beauty items to a minimum. in other words, I only have two or three lipsticks at any given time!

I'm slightly environmentally conscious. The main reason I'm not very much is because it's usually not convenient. I know that's a crappy excuse not to, but honestly, I don't care enough to do anything about it. If I were to run a business or something, I would be sure to take efforts to be conscious, but just my own waste, I don't think it's worth it. Probably the only reason I actually recycle is because the city picks it up from my drive way, just like the trash.

I am environmentally conscious but realize I could be more proactive. My family lives by the boy scout motto that declares you should always leave an area cleaner than it was upon your arrival. If people would adopt a few simple habits it would benefit all. In our household we never litter, recycle bottles and cans, conserve our water usage, recycle old books, toys, and clothing. I believe every little bit counts.

Trees make me enviromentally conscious. Looking at a huge old tree, maybe three or four foot around, towering a hundred and fifty feet or more over my head, casting cooling shade, leaves never quite still even when there doesn't seem to be a breath of wind, branches reaching prayerfully for the heavens. Seeing such monarchs thrown down by modern heavy equipment tears at my soul.
