How do I free the hard disk space that the computer is hiding and saying that it is generally used. Some heathy 20 Gb are unaccounted for and I don't know where they are. Someone help pliz.

Go to your start menu, then click accesories, and then find the system tools folder, then the disk clean up. Do that.

then In the same system tools folder, do the disk defragment.

All that should help compress all the files in your hard drive and free up alot of space.

Try seatching files for 100 mb in size that might need to be deleted. Go to C drive and search forfiles over 100000 bytes in size. This way I was able to free up like 5GB.

Make sure when deleting dound files that they are not used by ahything.

if your hard drive is partitioned that 20 GB is probably for the system restore and/or diagnostics if thats the case there isn't anything you can or should do about it

Those 20 gigs are probably you're operating files and restore files... so fugeddaboudit.

its probably used for hibernating

so that 20 gigs are partitioned from ur hard so u cant see it
