Alot of times a breeder will have pups that they will sell extremely cheap because of some problem with the dog that keeps them from being able to charge full price. For instance, if a pup has a hernia, they will sell the pup for next to nothing. Or maybe it has a bad eye (not necessarily blindness) these defects will keep the dog from being a perfect candidate for showing and breeding but if you are looking for a life--long companion this might be your answer. I bought a Dachshund for $25 because the pigmentation in its eye was not perfect. The rest of the litter sold for $425 per pup. If you get one let me know if my answer helped. THat would just tickle me pink. I am an animal lover also. GOOD LUCK!

depends on if you want a good pup or a bad pup. Good yorkies can cost up to 2000$ for females, and thats assuming they aren't out of a champion show dog. Yorkies tend to just be expensive. Also, the smaller you get the more expensive. Going straight to the breeder can be less expensive, but you still aren't looking at a cheep investment, and I would question any breeder willing to sell one for cheep. Small dogs come with innumberable genetic health issues like heart murmers, bad hips, and bad knees. You want a pup that you know isn't going to or doesn't have any of these problems because fixing them(if you can even have it fixed.. heart murmers for the most part cannot be fixed) will cost quite a bit and cause the dog alot of pain. The best choice if you want an inexpensive yorkie is to find an adult dog up for adoption that had been recently had a full check by a vet.

btw I work in a kennel so we get people in for yorkies alot. The smaller the dog the harder its going to be to take care of so keep that in mind. Other than that yorkies are awesome little dogs <3

It is true that the really good breeders will sell some pups cheaper. They are breeding for show and want perfection. Most times the pet quality is because the color of the dog isn't correct for showing. The cost is usually about 1/2 of what they are showing in their web sites. The difference is that the pups are much healthier than what you can get from a pet store or backyard breeder. My Dane didn't have enough white on his head! For that ...1/2 price.

A cheap yorkie pup? HA! Sorry, your not going to find one. And frankly, I do not suggest one because if they're cheap, they're unhealthy and you'll end up paying more in medical bills. But do check the newspaper and find one with a health guarantee. Those are usually better so if your pup has a sudden death, you'll know who to blame! lol

Yes, a Yorkie rescue /purebreed dog rescue group. I'd try & find an organization...you could try the humane society/animal control...a little Yorkie will probably come through, if it's not just sitting there waiting for a loving home now.

Good luck, T

No idea. But don't get a cheap pup anyway. Look for reputable breeders. Only then you should get a dog unless if you just want a pet then just go to a shelter and get a dog there.

i got 2 baby yorkies i paid 650 bucks for my one but i got the other one for 200 bucks because they were not sure if his left ear was going to take. it was a little floppy so she could not sell him for full price because no one wanted a dog with one ear up and the other one down. within 2 weeks the left ear stared standing up! so i got me a 650 dollar dog for 200 bucks!
