They are just words, I dont believe that they mean anything. I love you, but i just slept with your mother.. I mean come on, how can those words hold any weight with all Jerry springer guests in the world... On the other hand, telling a child you love them, if your a parent, is doable and serious...

Serious enough, that wars and duels have arisen from those three little words.
Death and even suicide, when it's lost.
Very powerful and the most sought after emotion in the world. Having some one say "I love you", to us.

They are very serious and wonderful to be heard if they are true and come from your heart. But they can also be abslolutely meaningless if they come just as a reply to the same statement if you say them just to be saying it because you think that is what that person wants to hear, but you don't really mean them....then please....just don't say it at all. If it's not heartfelt or meant...then it's real easy to sense it. Say it if you mean it and it could mean the world to the one who gets to hear it. :)

nowadays, it's turning to be a cliche but if you want these words in serious mode...say those words and show what these words really mean. now that would lead to another question.

Serious enough that I can count on my fingers how many people I have told them to. People die for them, start wars for them, and live each day for them. Pretty serious.

Depent ...ifu saying to a friends it mean u love them as a friend and u really love them ...to a Bf/gf it different ..some people lie and some don't ....who r u saying to this ..to ur Gf/BF ? then u should think about it before u say it ..u don't want to hurt other....
