you don't have to stress it out to your folks that you love your girl! take your time. just love the girl. go to college. love the girl. from time to time.... just say you still love the girl. then, your folks might just realize you do love your girl. in time, they'll understand. take it easy!

well, my parents met in 7th grade and just celebrated their 26th wedding anniversary. You know what love is.

Long Distance relationships are hell. She just doesnt want to tell you that. (she is your mom after all.) Someone always gets hurt and it's hard to keep it going. If you want to try it, please do.

Love is love. It doesn't matter when you find it. Just promise this: You won't let this girl change your future- no college transfers, major changing, or anything like that. Live your life first- then one as a couple, second.

go class of '06!

when you go to college are you moving away from this girl? if so, chances are you two will find someone else. your parents see this and that's why they are so skeptical. i thought i was in love with my ex. we broke up three months and now i realize what is necessary in love which was something we never had in our relationship. you will re-analyze love later on in life. but this transition will happen naturally. no one, not your parents, often not even you can define love. love changes over and over again and this is what your parents want you to see. but me, i would take your parents advice. right now, i am in a good college and this often requires the sacrifice of love. you have to analyze what's more important in your future- young love or career success

Just tell them if you want to tell them. You don't have to tell them, though. Look for the right time to tell them; don't just blurt it out randomly. For example, steer the conversation in the direction of your girlfriend. Then say that you love her. Whether they believe it or not, it doesn't matter; it only matters how you feel. Don't be afraid of what other people think, and don't deny what you believe you feel. You don't have to defend yourself against your mother. You can show her how much you love your girlfriend.
