A recent, rumored article (http://www.macrumors.com/pages/2006/06/20060609122918.shtml) says Apple Computer might be looking at buying out or merging with Nintendo.

Microsoft has the Xbox
Sony has the PlayStation
Apple has Mario??

Here's another article (http://crave.cnet.co.uk/digitalmusic/0,39029432,49276362,00.htm)

Think about it, and online game store similar to iTunes (nintendo has announced it will have one to sell their old games for use on the Wii) , with Nintendo games you download onto your iPod. Then you fit the ipod into a controller with an open dock connector on it, and you have a portable gaming system!!!

no, it would be a loss for nintendo and the gaming community. apple has not produced any serious console games. if they bought nintendo, than it would be a huge step backward. they would have to go through so much political buisness that the wii may come out in 2012. it would be cool to fit an ipod to a controller, but how would it fit on that stick?

I agree -- I think it wouldn't be a great move. Apple has never succesfully entered the gaming industry, the stellar Apple II GS aside ;) As far as ipod integration with quality games, I think that that's about 5 years off, if at all.
