It seems you are led astray. Such a blanket, generalized, question leads one to believe you don't know much about the subject at all. Hate seems to be your single motivation. Jesus loves you, anyway.

All religions and societies have at one time or another committed atrocities in the name of their god/gods. But not all their members have. Matter of fact is that nearly all christians really ARE that spiritually ignorant! And they are some of the most intolerant people on the face of old terra firma. I keep hearing Christians say "if you seek God he will save you" -- well their own Bible says that no one seeks him and that you are truly despicable and completely worthless. Go ahead, dare them to actually read it!
I have been in many churches/synagogues/mosques (yes, even out in nature...) and they all claim to follow their scriptures yet I have not found even one that really does. They seem to subscribe to the supermarket religion. You know, where you walk along and take only that which is pleasant to you leaving the rest on the shelf. I will say this though--many are a nice air conditioned place to sleep off the morning! Hmmm. I believe it IS all about the money. I can hear the hate-mail stacking up now...

Because they are so conceited that they think everyone else is wrong and everyone else is going to hell.

These people have spent so much time reading the bible and trying to interperet it that they have lost touch with reality.

They have spent so much time doing this that they can't accept it when someone else has a different view.

This is why every time I answer a question like this or ask one, I get reported, because these people can't accept people that think differently than them.

I can't imagine that if there is a god, how he/she could expect his/her followers to think this way. It kind of goes against the being good part of the religion.

I know many religious people that respect others but believe in certain things themselves. They don't try to push their beliefs on others because it is not the right thing to do.

These people need to get a life!
See you when I get reported.

I consider myself a Christian and have experienced the same attitude when I ask questions, compare other religions, etc, etc.

I think the reason for this is pure ignorance and insecurity. Most open minded, intelligent people listen to all potential sides of an issue. It makes me feel bad that the "light of the world" likes to put everyone elses light out.

Because each religion (not just Christians) says that their religion is the one true faith, so (to them) it is evil to discuss other religions. After all those people are going to hell and so will you if you convert to any religion, except for their own.

That's one of several reasons why I am not religious, despite being brought up in a Catholic Church and attending church for 18 years.

How can each religion be the only one, when there are so many religions? Did God give us a multiple choice? Or are they all wrong? It seems to me that everybody can’t be right, so the RIGHT religion is the one that works the best for you.

Yes its amazing to see such Christians. As far as i know this is the religion which is based on forgiveness and peace.
I know Christians will tell you to ignore, but i have never come across any Muslim, Jew, Hindu, Buddhist behaving like this in this forum.

Not all Christians are like that...I am one and I am open to learning about other religions. Just ignore those who are hateful, and besides, it's not just Christans who do that...there are people in all religions who do the same thing. Not everybody is open minded no matter what religion, nationality, gender, and so on.

Unfortunately these are the extreme Christians. They are missing the true teaching of Jesus which is to be non judgmental and to love and accept everyone. It is sad these type of Christians make others look bad. I am Christian but I respect and like to know about all religions. Every religion is a different path to God and we should all love, respect and learn from one another.
