Why are more and more women finding it okay to be fat?

Of course men are fat too... But you dont see them wearing tight shirts with their rolls hanging out, or wearing high heels that are about to burst.....Women always seem to make excuses why they are fat, oh yes my favorite one of all......... "i am happy the way i am" Well of course you are, you have no other choice... you are too lazy to work out. Shame on you!!!!

may I add... if you feel offended, then you must be fat.

Look around you..... if you dont see it, you must be blind.... fat women are all around. Jeez... i am pretty sure you have also seen the "Plus Size" store at the mall....

America keeps getting fatter every year. It's all about our surroundings and how easy it is to access everyting with little effort. Genetics of course play a big role. Everyone keeps getting bigger so women see it and I guess think since everyone else is it's ok. When a woman says she's happy with being fat, 99% of the time she is lying straight through her teeth. Some people think they are healthy when they are fat, but that's because they don't get out and try and do "normal" things. Go try and jog a mile slowly, if you get winded within two steps your not healthy.

I'm sure you realize that you've written an inflammatory and offensive "question", more a desire to pontificate than to get into a real dialog. However, I'll just say here that your assumptions about what goes on in the minds and bodies of fat women are inaccurate.

Just as there are variations in the physiology and behavior of thin women, there are these same variations in fat women. Some fat women exercise a great deal, some do not. Some eat a great deal, some do not.

I would much rather spend time questioning our cultural assumptions about what constitutes beauty and health and finding ways to make all women (and men) feel truly good about themselves than point my finger at those that I feel don't fit into a narrow definition of "good" "beautiful" "healthy" or "active."

My wish for you is that you learn to open up your mind, find true compassion for others and see the world around you as it really is, rather than as a projection of your own self-hatred and close-mindedness.

I'm a chubby, but i don't wear tight clothes, etc. I'm not OK being fat, but there's nothing wrong with me either. We all make excuses for our shortcomings. And i am definitely not lazy! I work, take care of 3 kids, walk, sports, swim, lots of things. I know what it is i need to change and yes i guess i am to lazy to change the way i cook and eat. That's my problem, and to the girls who do wear the the tight shirts with rolls!...Come on, cover it up....If you don't like to look at it, who else does?...

People aren't necessarily fat because they are lazy. That is what dumb people say. Why can't a woman be happy with her curves? Who is anyone to look down on it? We have so many people with eating disorders. We have so many people who have died from eating disorders yet society wonders why!! This right here is why. I was anorexic and to be honest my best look is 10 pounds above the "average" weight guidelines. So shame on the people who think they can tell others how they should look and how they should feel about themselves. Look in the mirror I'm sure people could find something wrong with you also.

Women are finding it ok to be fat more and more simply because we as a society are ALLOWING them to. Men have to stop kowtowing to these COWS and tell them "hey pork rind, either lay off the starbucks or wear the freaking moo moo." fat is not fabulous sweetheart, maybe FLABulous, but by no means is it fabulous. This is a huge problem in PORKland oregon (home of the other white meat) where women are "large and in charge" and a liberal government stomps out a jackbooted decree that if you DARE to speak out against the fatties YOU are the one who is wrong for trying to make this world a better more beautiful place.

The thing you have to understand is that men can be fat IF THEY WANT TO simply because we are the ones who 90% of the time have to shell out the bucks to support these sluts and give them the life their little "princess" minds say they deserve.

Men need to buck up and start being MEN, stop giving fatty the booty call and letting her thing she's your lady love. Stop even TALKING to fat women alltogether! eventually theyll all get the hint and pass on the double cheeseburger in favor of a salad.

Did you ever think that maybe some of these women may have health issues? Maybe their thyroid is out of whack. As far as men go, I see them all the time with their stomachs hanging out over their pants and shirts that are too short and too tight. So I guess it goes both ways.

You're probably gonna get a lot of slack for that question, but I agree. We are in a very overweight America right now. Where I live there are a lot of overweight people. While I'm struggling to look good, these people let it all hang out! I do beliee in dressing appropriately. Some thicker people can dress well and I appreciate them. But high blood pressure, heartattacks...hello people!

B/c society has become too damn accepting for its own good. Some fat ppl may be great ppl, but they do have serious health probs. Remember in the game of sex, @ some base lvl. health is a major factor (sick mate = sick kids). Also, body dysmorphic disorder runs rampant and untreated, which yields the hotpants labeled sexy on a woman who is found sexy only by John Goodman and african rhinos.

women have alot to contribute to the world besides looking sexy. They can be important in politics, science, research, other areas.

That's so rude....Finally women are starting to accept their bodies and find comfort in themselves and then theres someone like you who says that they are too lazy..Well SHAME ON YOU!!!!

You're the reason people have eating disorders and low self esteem. Why is it so hard to accept people the way they are?
