Depends on the individual dog, but I would highly recommend you get her fixed ASAP because if she were to become pregnant again she runs a very high risk of complications or pyometria, which can easily be fatal.
No offense, but why wasn't she spayed about 10 1/2 years ago?!

Physically, it would be a serious strain on a dog that age. Ethically, we have so many "excess" dogs in America that thousands are put down every day. Why bring more puppies into the world when there are so many at local shelters that neeed homes? Talk to your vet about this. I'm not sure I'd put an 8 year old dog through spaying, but there may be alternatives.

She will continue to have pups until she dies. I cannot believe you have an eleven year old dog and you are still letting her have litters. I don't even want to know how many litters the poor thing has had. What do you think, dogs have menopause like humans do?? Get the old girl fixed as soon as possible. Call the Vet tomorrow.....

I think she should retire from breeding already. 11 years is pretty old for a dog. Get her fixed.

They can have them as long as they still go into heat, if you get her fixed though she won't be able to have them anymore.
