Blu-ray or hi-def dvd players, also the PS3 will which is why the price will be outrageously high. That is why Sony will come in third in the console wars, behind even Nintendo. I predict Microsoft will prevail. Also Microsoft is coming out with a Hi-def (blu-ray) dvd player kit for the 360, similar to the dvd player kit for the Xbox

You are getting some good and some bad advice so far.
DVD players will not play Blu-ray discs nor will they play HD DVD discs.
Blu-ray and HD-DVD are incompatible, competing formats.
Blu-ray players will play Blu-ray discs, DVDs, and CDs. Not HD DVD discs
HD DVD players will play HD DVD discs, DVDs, and CDs. Not Blu-ray discs.
Blu-ray players are coming out later this year. They've been delayed. The first Blu-ray player from Samsung goes on sale this coming Sunday, June 25.

Sony PS3 will come with a built-in Blu-ray player.
Microsoft is NOT coming out with Blu-ray for the X-box 360. Microsoft is backing HD-DVD and has talked about coming out with an external HD-DVD drive for the X-box 360.

I think Blu-ray players are coming out soon. Also, a few computer companies will eventually put players and burners in their computers. I know for sure Apple and Sony are.

They were going to be in the XBOX 360's but in its hurry to get it on the market Microsoft decided that it didn't want to wait for them and used older technology.
