The United States has failed to completely define itself as a sovereign nation ... notice that the National Anthem was "pin pointed" to a specific version in just the the past few months, and we've been Indipendent since 1776.
Being a "Free Country" has cost us in the long run. There have been rules and regulations but no limitations (of marals and values) that maintain the US as one particular nation under God. A lot of what goes against God's Laws are actually tolerated by the United States.
God has seemingly been pushes aside as people chase the American Dreams for their livelihood, liberties and what ever it is that makes "them" happy ... not what God requires.
Morever, people are so screwed up about religion that it makes me sick. They twist and turn Scripture to suit them and Telavangelists profit through solicitation of prayer or some offer of material things like, prayer cloths and some kind of magic water as I saw the other day.
America has lost her virtue and call it Democracy in Action ... which is why other countries around the world want no part of American Democracy in their neighborhood.

Well, it is a fact that all things head toward a state of degeneration; America, as a country, is also headed towards that. Yes, I believe we HAVE pushed God aside and that is going to cost us in the long run. God is real and whether or not people acknowledge Him, they will come to terms with Him on that judgment day when every knee shall bow and every tongue shall confess. Those people that called you stuff and criticized your strong moral stand will too meet their maker and will bow down and recognize Him as God. Let them call and say all these things about and to you. Continue to share your views and most of all share the greatest gift ever given and that is salvation through Christ Jesus who died on the cross and paid for our sins. People rejected Christ when he was on earth and they will reject Him more today. As far as crime goes, crime will be everywhere. Degeneration brings crime. Whatever people may say, homosexuality is a choice. There is nothing we can do about that. Hate the sin, love the sinner. Keep God #1 in your life and forget about what the narrow-minded liberals have to say about you. One last note, calivane07, you're an idiot!

I think it wouldn't hurt you to be a little more open minded about other people's life decisions (homosexuality).
Reading "What God Wants" by Neale Donald Walsch might be a real eye opener for you. It was for me. And he explains the crime question much better than I have time for here.

Judging by the way you frame your question, I am guessing that if America hadn't "gone wrong," everyone would adhere to your particular morality/ethic/religion?
In the U.S., our freedoms allow us to believe according to our various convictions. If we all ascribed to the same things, how would we be different from Taliban controlled Afghanistan? An America in which people can legally believe and act according to their convictions is not "wrong," it's a place where those who seek to better their lives can see examples of different beliefs, lifestyles, moralities, etc., and follow the way they find most meaningful and fulfilling. Those who give in to their "animal instincts" are also welcome to do so, and the rule of law deals with those who infringe upon the right of others to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.

We are a country of immigrants, not a country of bear-hugging self-righteous self-loving fascist asshats, like I will go ahead and assume you are by the way you are talking. We are a country of a variety of peoples, views, cultures, and all that. Not a country of bigots, like I will again assume you are.
This is not a matter of God, this is a matter of you thinking you are better than everyone who does not follow the bible to a tee, which I'm sure you do not either, but you think you do. Boy, people like you make me want to scream, that's for sure. But ranting and poking fun at your idiocy will work.

I read this as one of those "I hate myself questions".
America, for ALL its faults (and there are many) is still the country where people die TRYING TO GET INTO.
America went wrong?
By letting extremists have power. First religious, then liberals.

I think that is a pretty general statement.....Are you saying that as a whole the country is wrong????? Have you ever been to a foreign country????? I think we are pretty damn fortunate here....I've been foreign places where food is a luxury.....And about putting God aside......How do you know????? You sound pretty negative to me......I know a whole bunch of people who pray every day and ask for guidance.......Maybe we should all pray for patience and acceptance............

Because you took a stand for God look at the hate that others wrote. They hate God and anything that stands for him.

It happened thorugh time. When people who defiant of authority, started to get married and become parents, and refused to teach their children right from wrong, and refused to teach them morals, the country started to go down hill.
