Being homosexual is like any other sin, it is what it is sin. I am not sure what you mean by tolerant. I would be very nice and help anyone in need , homosexual or not. However, if they want me to agree with they're lifestyle, I can't. I cannot pretend it is ok or accept it but, I can accept them as a person and one of God's children.

Hate the sin, love the sinner. Be tolerant NOT Permissive or condoning of the sin that the sinner does.
We have to live on the planet with ALL peoples and if we want to live peaceably we cant deliberately make enemies. Some people will hate us for doing nothing but loving God and obeying Christ, so why fuel the flames by harassing others?
Like I said - just make sure they know we are not condoning sexual immorality on ANY level not even heterosexual sins like adultery and such.
However we should NEVER tolerate homosexuality or any kind of sexual sins in the Church offices (Paster, Deacons, etc)

Because true Christians have an acute sense of their own sinfulness and God's saving grace. God has shown mercy to me, so how can I not show mercy to others? At the same time, it does not remove the truth of sinfulness and God's call in each person's life to be holy. Showing love to others is not agreement that the person's lifestyle is right in the sight of God.
We hate evil because God hates evil. But God's hatred of evil extended so far that Jesus died on the cross to save people from evil. Jesus' death on the cross was the ultimate expression of love to sinners, yet God still calls unrighteous behavior sin.

Hey dude first of all know that we are sinners too, and if you HATE your brother you are a murderer (1 John 3:15.) Secondly we are not to judge those of the world (1 Corinthians 5:12) Thirdly how can you minster to and help to win over to the Lord someone you hate? and finally just because I do not hate a person does not mean that I approve of their actions, but I am not God and do not judge anyone still lost, because had he not had mercy on me, I too would still be lost. I was a murderer and a **** when he found me, and though YOU might have judged me HE loved me and chose to save me. Good thing no self righteous person is God..he sees hearts and he see circumstances and he judges motives. Well said Victor..ious!!!

Because love is more divine than hate?
And because the Bible was written by mortal people, and translated by mortal people, in a time that is so very different from ours, that you can't just take it brick-by-brick. Heck, the Bible says don't eat shellfish, either. Those things aren't relevant to today. The culture back then was entirely different from today. Move forward, keep the good, discard the rest.
If you have to live your life by some religious mumbo-jumbo, then I think you should sit down and look to see what you think, not what others are telling you to think. And you have to know that any sort of hate is wrong.

Quotes:
"The Bible has a great deal to teach us about how to live as human beings. The Bible does not have so much to teach us about what sorts of food to eat, what sorts of clothes to wear -- there are rules in the Bible about those that we don't observe today," she said.
"The Bible tells us about how to treat other human beings, and that's certainly the great message of Jesus -- to include the unincluded."

You make an absurd 'leap of faith' in labeling homosexuals (the persons) as evil. Any person may be evil whether he/she be Christain, Jew, Muslim, Hidu or a person claiming to be of any other faith or belief. A true Christian ... a follower of Christ would be accepting of any person. Remember that Christ said that whatever You do to the least of these You do to Me. So ... take care who you declare as evil ..... Is it not amazing how some 'Christians' can selectively accept or reject people to suit their prejudices and biggotry??

i am a catholic and i don t find gay people any different to the rest of humanity, just because their sexual preferences are different to mine doesn't bother me.we are all created by the same source, being gay doesn't make you evil. and i don't do hate . i may strongly disagree with the way things are in this world, with hatred and wars. but to hate is to join the rest of the bigots.if a soul is on this earth to learn to evolve into a better soul as i believe this is why we are all here.then to hate would be defeating my reason for being here.

Maybe because they have love ones who are gay. They could be gay themselves and are afraid that others will judge or they fear God because of that lifestyle. This scriptures imply hate as a sin which is evil or vice versa! We shouldn't hate the person who is only confused.

The person is not the evil but the demons filling them with the lust for each other (this is not a battle of flesh and blood but of powers and principalities); they are simply just falling for it like we fall for a sin.
