Your best bet is to take some tylenol a regualr dose as if you had a headache and lay down, drink some chamomile tea and if you don't like it drink regular tea with a little lemon and sugar, start doing something you know will put you to sleep like reading a book, playing a computer game, etc.. Try getting out of the bedroom for a little while and go watch tv then go back a lay down. You can take a hot bath or shower, and get out dry off and go lay down don't go do other things. Drink some warm milk. if you can leave the house go out and take a ten minute walk and come back drink some water, tea or milk then try to go to sleep. Try to regulate your sleep patern and I know thats hard because I have had a lot of trouble with that myself. but it can be done. Once you do that your body will be able to go to sleep easier and you will sleep better; you will also feel better and more rested when you wake up. Watch a boring movie and it will most likely start putting you to sleep. If you don't want to do any of that try to cut down on the sugar and caffeine late at night. or eating late at night because it will keep you up. hope this helps. If none of that works try sleeping pills and then make an appointment with a sleep doctor because you may have a sleeping disorder. Hope you get some sleep.

First thing. Relax. Make sure there is little or no sound, and if you are not afraid of the dark, keep all of the lights off. Lay still. Count backwards from 1000 but don't think about it. Think of sleep. Wait.

i wouldn't experiment with pills and all. It depends on how long you havent been sleeping. there are sleeping disorders.. such as insomnia.. could be dangerous so get to the doctor asap. otherwise if it hasnt gone on long.. it could be stress.. to much on the mind... try to maybe write in a diary or something.. get everything out that your thinking about before you try to go to sleep. dont drink caffeine before bed either... including soda. Also dont eat anything with sugar in it either it can keep you up. if it persists do get to the doctor though.

A sleeping pill would work.
Or try some deep breathing exercises (breath in for 10 seconds, breath out for 4 seconds, expelling all your air).
Or try progressive relaxation. Beginning at the top of your body, squeeze, hold and then release your muscles, letting them go lax. (squeeze your face, and then scrunch up your schoulders, then your arms, hands, stomach, thighs, toes, etc).

Take a couple Tylenol PMs and then read a book. You'll be out in no time.
