The Guidance office is usually staffed by guidance counselors or school counselors. Their role is to provide academic and emotional/social counseling to students. Usually there is not much guidance regarding emotional/social issues because counselors are so bogged down helping students with their academic needs

The faculty room is the gathering area for school teaching staff.

The guidance office is where students go for guidance. It could be counseling, privately or in groups, for a number of things from where to go to college, what they want to be for a career, or how to deal with divorce. The faculty room is where the faculty, the teachers, hang out. They can also work in there and sometimes eat.
