Did he stop talking for good? He hasn't said anything in days/weeks? Autism has been linked to some vaccinations so get him to a doctor.

AUTISM IS NOT LINKED TO VACCINES.
In fact, last week the medical journal the Lancet retracted the papers published by the doctor who first made the purported link between the MMR vaccine and autism, and he's being sued.
It was a bad study, with bad motives.
And it's just plain not true.
Autism tends to show up at about the same time the MMR vaccine is administered. But it is not a causative relationship.
The actual cause of autism is unknown, but an exhaustive series of studies, by different scientists, on different groups of kids, in different countries, has shown definitively that autism is NOT caused by vaccines.
Further, no required childhood vaccines in the US contain thimerosal, the mercury preservative that scares people. And mercury-free versions of ALL vaccines are available.
Little kids sometimes seem to lose previously gained skills while they're working on acquiring new ones. Perhaps that's the case with your son?
In any case, let your pediatrician know if you're really worried. That's the bottom line.

I don't wanna scare you or anything but I saw a segment on 20/20 sometime ago and child vaccinations have been linked to autism. Children that age may be upset for about 1 or 2 before they are back to normal(unless they are one of the few kids that run a fever after shots). If it has been a couple of days since your child has said anything and you notice that something just isn't right.....trust your gut! Take him to the doctor. And also, even if it turns out that it's nothing(which im praying), at least you know that you did what you needed to do. Check out the web and look for more information on vaccines/autism. Good luck with this.

Seriously? How long ago were the shots? Hours, Days, Years? That will help me answer some, or what info I do know about it.
Ok People calm down, they took mercury out of Vaccines in 1999. The Flu shot is about the only one left with a small amount in it. Vaccines are safe. Quit scaring the crap out of her. And if you don't vaccine because of the Mercury Scare, do some research, you're behind the times and putting your children at more risk.
Back to the problem, there could be many reasons for not talking, stress, lockjaw (from stress). Take his temp, and call your doctor right now. No reason to take risk, just to make sure.

I know my account could be banned by corporate run yahoo answers for speaking out about this, but I will tell you anyways. I will tell the tale of a brilliant and heroic man who was run out of the country for speaking out about this atrocity that is being done to INFANTS like your son! The vaccines, according to Dr. Singh (who was likely run out of America by sinister corporations like Pfizer, possibly in collaboration with the CIA and NSA), can create this by causing an autoimmune reaction to the measles virus in the shot. The immune system, in this misguided reaction which some infants/children exhibit, causes a destruction of developing myelin. If you know anything about the brain, myelin is needed for healthy and normal development. Without a normal myelination, severe deficits in sensory processing, social development, and understanding of abstract concepts are likely. The reason why you have never heard about this, and Dr. Singh's articles are challenging to find and why my account will possibly be banned by Yahoo is because if all this came out big pharma would be completely destroyed by billions, if not trillions of dollars worth of lawsuits. The government officials have investments in big pharma and some of the more crooked, moral values-free politicans may even receive illicit kickbacks from big pharma so they help to cover this up by publishing studies that allegedly claim that vaccines do not cause autism when according to Dr. Singh (who I believe to have been run out of the country) they do. I hate to say it, but your son has likely been permanently damaged by this vaccine and he may never speak again all because of this sick, disgusting corporate run society we all have been forced to live in

Get him assessed for autism. Believe it or not, there are documented cases that the chemicals in vaccines can cause autism. I hope i dont sound gloom-and-doom, but these statistics convinced me to never vaccinate my child (until she is old and mature enough to decide for herself)

What do you mean 'stopped talking' exactly?? Has he refused to talk for days, or just for a little while? Chances are he might be sulking after 'big bad mummy' made him get a needle....best of luck!!
