I'm having the same problem with this - glad to see I'm not the only one not getting their child to poop on the potty. I've tried everything - including the bribabry and it's just not working - I spoke to my pediatrician and she said it takes longer for children to feel comfortable with pooping. But she did say that usually about 20-30 minutes after a big meal to have her sit on the potty and just try to poop. I usually give her a book and just let her sit on her potty chair and try to go. But to be honest, it's not working. But it is something that you can try. But I'm not giving up! Because if you think about it, our parents were able to get us toilet trained, so eventually consistency does work, or else we would all be still wearing diapers! ;0)
Good luck!

My granddaughter is almost 3 and is the same way! She is potty trained for pee pee but refuses to poop on the potty. I'm sure this will happen soon. I'm not worried about it.
PS Bribery works wonders...

Do you mean a potty chair or a regular toilet? I can understand being afraid of a toilet since at that age that hole is BIG and you can worry about falling in. (I used to have dreams where I fell in the toilet, heh.) You could try finding something to put on the toilet to make the hole smaller so she can sit on it comfortably.

bring over a child who is trained to show her how it's done, she will be way less scared if she sees them do it and be rewarded, especially if they tell her she's a big girl now, too big for diapers.
also, you probably are, but let her have full access to the potty so she can explore it fully and become less afraid of it. Good luck!

usually it takes longer for a kid to go poop in the toilet. if she was pull ups or something and goes on her self. show her that it goes in the toilet and let her flush it. then tell her good job. then try to explain to her that instead of on her self to sit on the toilet and do it like the big girls. I have 4 kids 3 who already go on there on. sometimes you could tell when she is going poop try and pick her up and take her to the bathroom when she is going. then congratulate her when done

Check if the potty is okey, if not change it. There are times when kids find it dirty or not comfy for them to sit. My toddler cries & stands up fast after he poops as he finds it too dirty, he feels as if anytime it will touch his butt.

Have her go on a potty chair, and then have her dump it in the toilet.
After she gets tired of the extra effort, and she realizes that there's no 'sewer sharks' to come up and bite her, -then she'll do the toilet thing herself.

Get her a little plastic training toilet with a container inside and let her get comfortable with that first, you can simply dump it out after she uses it, some kids, especially small ones, need a little extra time before they can comfortable use a full size toilet

i know as disgusting as this sounds ,i would just let them in the bathroom every time you go and show her after your done that its ok and thats where the poopy goes.. tell her you have to feed the commode and that when you flush it ,it goes to its tummy.then laugh about it and ask her if she thinks the commode is hungry for her poopy yet..i know sounds corny but my kids loved the thought of feeding the commode that way..
