I've got a JVC Stereo- KD-S570. And I have everything hooked up except the accessory wire. Where should I hook it up?

hook it to a "hot" wire from the battery. It keeps the memory in your radio so you don't have to reset it everytime you turn it on.

You may not need it. Just cut it off square so no "wire" is sticking out of the insulation and even tape it off so it won't short out. That wire is used in some cars to power the antenna when you turn the radio on. In other cases it is used to turn on a post amp for the same reason. If you don't have a power antenna or an amp in back of the radio (to run bigger speakers, for example) you don't need it. That wire goes "hot" off of the power switch (now computer logic and not just a contact on the on/off vol. control) to turn something else on "automatically" when you turn on the radio.
For the benifit of the rest here, if that was the "back-up" wire it would be marked as such and would go to the "hot all the time" circuit.

I think it's generally an orange wire. It should enable your stereo to turn on when you turn your key back to the accessory position. I'm pretty sure hooking it up to something that is always hot is wrong because your stereo would always be on then.

Find a wire that's hot with ignition in the "on" position, and get the wire from the radio then connect them together, and bolt them both to a metal bracket that's attached to the car.

Tie the yellow wire to your "accessory" side of your ignition.

It can be found in your fuse box.

Car on, radio on.
Car off, radio off.

To the other people, RED is BAT(+) or HOT.

to the accessory circuit...(the key on key off wire) if you wire it direct to the positive on the battery you don't have to turn on the key to hear the stereo...otherwise it will shutoff when you turn off the engine.
