According the the second Commandment in both hebrew and Protestant it says:

Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth: Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the Lord thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me; And showing mercy unto thousands of them that love me, and keep my commandments.

It is for those who believe there is power in it and worship it or use it as a medallion which gives them strength - it's not a good luck charm! It represents one of the most tragic events in world history, a way of death that is described by forensic scientist in some of the most horrific ways. But it is also the way of atonement that Christ chose as a sacrifice for our sins. He's the one we should worship in Spirit and in Truth, we don't need medallions of him either - just his Word - anything we put between us and God (Jesus, Holy Spirit) is an idol, graven image and it separates us from God. You ask a very intelligent question. I hope I have been able to give you an equally intelligent answer.

No. A graven image is an object/thought/or depiction that depicts something that is false about God as true, either as intentional blasphemy or as a raising up of something false to be praised.

A crucifix cannot be a graven image because it is a true symbol and its meaning is not blasphemous.

Also please read your history, because the ancient Jews and Christians used imagery all over the place. (If you read "The Antiquities of the Jews" you will see that the Temple Curtain was a giant tapestry that showed the heavens.) It is not the item that is against the commandments but rather the usage of the item and what it represents.

It's a symbol. But all of those statues are definitely graven images.

I think it is a image of hope. God gave his only son for us. Read Mark and Matthew maybe they can help you decide. God bless
