Try Benadryl cream, witch hazel or calamine lotion. Can also make a compress with plain oatmeal.

RE:
Does anyone know how to stop a mosquito bite itch?
I got a real beauty on my ankle and rather than scratch it in my sleep (which is what happens) i want to treat it before I go to bed so that I dont tear the skin open... Help!

I get mosquito bites all the time. I take a cotton ball or a Q-tip and dip it in plain household ammonia and just rub it on the bite area. Do not use the kind with detergent (the sudsing kind) or you might have worse problems. The ammonia really calms down the itch like nothing else. Good luck.

ok this may sound weird but it actually works! take a penny and it has to be a penny and put a penny on a mosquito bite and let it sit there. the copper in the penny helps it to stop itching an kills the venim/ poison. this works for any type of bite or sting. except for ticks! ya i didnt think it worked when someone told me to do it but it acutally does

go and get antihistamine creams with added glucocorticoides and antibiotics
antihistamine stops itch ,swelling
Glucocorticoids too
and antibiotcs to prevent seconddary infection into the bite after u scratch it..this works real fast to decrease the swell ,itchiness and even if u tear it,less chances it s gona be infected.
u can wear a soft gloves..and wear shirt which covers the areas
preventions are better..prevent the bites..
use the resonance bug off product thingy..repellents,
watver

I know of a ready good thing to use on the itchy bites. You can go right to the store and buy what they call witch hazel. you can also use any over the counter anti-itch medications. cool water may also stop the itch for a short time.

Well, you can try putting a cold compress on it to kind of "freeze" the poision. I don't know if it's be early enough yet either but they have creams and such to put on bites like that to stop the itching. If you're real allergic to them too like I am and it's that big, you might want to consider taking ibuprofin or something to lessen the swelling and stuff.

Gold Bond Quick Spray might work. There are other anti-itch medications in pharmacies or supermarkets.
