I believe that it is possible that more people would consider being catholic if they didn't believe everything they see on tv or read in the printed media.

Is a Catholic who wasn't always a Catholic.
I think the answer is yes and no. The majority of Catholic haters wouldn't know what the Catholic Church taught if you asked them. However, that is not always the case and there are plenty of people that know what the Catholic Church teaches and are against the Catholic Church.
The Emotional Aspect is tied to an Ahistorical aspect. A non-emotional Protestant can still be quite anti-Catholic based on the ahistorical philosophical system that they are using to view reality. Frankly it doesn't matter to a lot of Protestant theologies if the Church always taught that Peter was the first Pope or even if the first Christians acted in a way that was consistent with Rome being in charge. It doesn't matter because, for them, truth is not connected to historicity. These people can be the worst type of anti-Catholic because they are beyond historical argumentation and rational argumentation. The faith is not what has always been lived out, but rather what the "spirit has revealed to me". These people can be both "conservative" Protestants but they are also all liberal and progressive protestants.
There is indeed something to saying that, if Catholicism is true, then why not be Catholic? But we should also remember that we are not commissioned to prove that it is true, but rather to say that it is true, by our actions first and proofs second.
Sadly, for one reason or another, there will always be anti-Catholics. Some are willful, some mislead, and some ignorant.

AN ALTERNATIVE VIEUW.
and no disrespect intended about your opinion
the biggest scandal of all is the Myth of the church,
the message is Love (the myth) and the method has been War (the reality)
check the motives of all Christianity through the ages and maybe you will understand why---- Gold is the answer
,God or the Anunaki who was called God ,created people to mine gold for him ,about 300.000 years ago
the story of Adam was a symbolic story for the race he created ,
and this Anunaki was known as the creator
the religion was created to control these slaves .
And to give some meaning to their origin and a purpose for their lives
The Anunaki´s descendants (the Illuminati)to this day still control the descendants of these slaves.
And this was not a God ,but a survivor of mars before it was knocked out of its orbit,
and the story of Adam is about genetic engineering and cloning.
and it was not a single man and a women who were created but a whole race.
the illuminati have done every thing to feed the myth
to keep the control going and to prevent the truth from escaping
the mind control includes ,to disbelief what i have just said
a lot of people who live outside of the manipulations and beyond the censorship and propaganda of the Illuminati already know this for a long time
and most of the indigenous peoples ,who exist beyond the effects of the media ,(which exercises mind control) ,have been killed into oblivion or been forced to embrace the organized religions .
their choice was to convert or die
the trouble with people ,who are submerged within the philosiphies of the bible,is that they are too close, to ever have an objective vision.
they cant see the wood for the trees

Now b4 different posters choose me, undergo in thoughts we are Christian and do not choose others, ok reliable. i'm Catholic and stay Catholic bc i think we've a closer version of the Bible to what replaced into initially written. numerous edits were made to the Bible in the course of the reformation. I actually don't have any more some thing adverse to Protestants as i think all Christians could stick mutually as one. although the actual truth continues to be that my church has stayed mutually at the same time as Protestant church homes have continued to splinter over countless subject matters in the approach the a at the same time as. This to me calls into question how dependable to the unique understand God they are in the adventure that they are prepared to modify ie settle for ministers who're brazenly gay and in a gay union. That to me is inaccurate. it quite is why i'm Catholic. i'm no longer judging all people as someone, i imagine Protestants for the most area are large human beings, yet their church homes have flaws i visit't forget. i don't sense any foundation of judgement like those printed above about Catholics carry any validity bc they got here from a Bible (KJV) that has been edited in the approach the years, so I merely write those evaluations off trusting they got here from guy, no longer God.

I think most Protestants would be inclined to rejoin the Catholic church if they would just reform on the main principles of the reformation.
Remove the extra sacraments, Baptism and Lord's Supper are the only two that Jesus commands.
Remove the concept of the immaculate conception and assumption of Mary for Mary confesses God as her Savior, no one who is free of sin needs to be saved from sin, the angels do not call Jesus their Savior
Luke 1
46 And Mary said: "My soul glorifies the Lord
47and my spirit rejoices in God my Savior
Remove the Papacy, no man is head of the Church
Ephesians 5:23
For the husband is the head of the wife as Christ is the head of the church, his body, of which he is the Savior.
Remove the concept of Sanctification (good works)
Ephesians 2
8For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— 9not by works, so that no one can boast. 10For we are God's workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.
I might be forgetting some other needs of reform within the Catholic Church

People are not stupid, they can see that the Catholic Church is evil, they make there own rules(confession)and dream up false doctrine(purgatory)and try to make people believe that that the Pope is infallible, what nonsense.
And then there's the paedophile priest's.

Never be corrupted by the actions of others. Worship HIM because HE is who HE is. Do this for yourself, and for no other reason except maybe, " TAKE THIS CUP AND DRINK FROM IT, IT IS MY BLOOD, THE BLOOD OF THE NEW AND EVERLASTING COVENANT, IT SHALL BE SHED FOR YOU AND FOR ALL , SO THAT SINS MAY BE FORGIVEN, DO THIS IN MEMORY OF ME."
To be sure, the Catholic church has had short comings , but consider the lineage that goes back to JESUS CHRIST. Also admire Pope Gregory, for what he did to correct our calender.

you're right. People mostly hate the Catholic Church because they don't like to be told what is morally right. They can't accept that just because something feels good they can do it.
