Often children are diagnosed with ADHD cause of some of the excessive movements, or they have signs of OCD...all of these disorders are somewhat linked to Dopamine. Too much Dopamine causes excessive movements, agitation, flight of thoughts...etc. Children can be diagnosed around 2 to 18 years of age with Tourettes, symptoms of Tourette's will occur before age 18. The gender ratio is like males more that females by 3 to 1. Check out a website dedicated to Tourette's www. tourettes-disorder.com or www.wemove.org/ts (the latter really has great information)
